Toohey saying Hastings contract worth about 800k next year

guessing dargons would take about 500k of dsafs contract (just a guess)

that’s about 1.3 cleared up in 2 nsw cup games quality players
Hope they do leave because those are some crazy numbers.

The numbers are all relative to the supply of halves and whether a team needed a half. They have been in low supply for years, and we were desperate. We still are.

We must be confident we can get Pezet straight away, or prepared to write 2025 off - and that is a huge if we can actually get rid of Jacko.

With Talagi leaving Parra it seems like a domino effect of Moses clients leaving is about to happen. Mitchell and Dylan both have out clauses according to NRL 360. Should we throw our hat into the ring or are they simply players who are over valued and perhaps not as good as is made out? Both are very talented. No argument there. But is it another Pearce re run for us?

If Mitchell Moses is on the market you throw everything you've got at him.

Browns not the type of half we need.

You’d definitely go all in for Moses (not that it would happen in a million years).

Yeah apart from the absolutely elite guys (Cleary, Hughes & DCE et al) who are all under contract and not any chance of moving anywhere, Moses is the next best option for sure. Although it does come with the downside of having his manager come along with him. But as has been previously stated if he wants to win a comp above all else he’ll probably end up at another club anyway.

but yeah if we’re serious about winning something we should be chasing a guy like him.

Toohey's News

- Hastings to Leeds rumour is completely unfounded and he hasn’t been given permission to negotiate with other clubs as of yet. Toohey says if the Knights are successful in signing Pezet and getting him for 2025 the Hastings to England talk might become more realistic. He's named at lock in reserve grade this week and expected to play some hooker as well, which Toohey takes as an indication he has a long road back to playing NRL.

- A falling out with Blake Cannavo (Phil Gardner's right hand man and "advisor") is the reason that former recruitment officer Adam Doyle has left the club. Toohey suggests it was over a disagreement on the playing future of SG Ball player Will Cannavo (Blake's son).

- Mapapalangi looks long odds to be re-signed.

- Toohey predicts Sebastian Su’a will be the next player to debut.

So our 800k halfback isn't going anywhere for 2025 but is also unlikely to crack first grade any time soon. The joys of being a Knights fan hey.

Wonder what the plan is if no Pezet. Cross our fingers over the off-season that Hastings magically becomes competent again?

Must be why Anasta is saying the Storm are keen to upgrade and extend him.
Anasta? His agent who's primary interest would be to get the most $ for him out of rival clubs? That same Anasta?

Comon man

I'm sure the Storm would love to keep a good half on low coin long term but they don't have the cap to pay him anything more than minimum. With Wishart there filling in and doing it well, where does Jonah play for them?

Nepotism and infighting was a cornerstone of the Bulldogs success in the 80’s. Maybe we’re trying to replicate them?

You're kinda making my point for me here, they have a good half on low coin for 2025. Why let him go for nothing.

Pezet is insurance for Hughes going down in Round 1. Unlike the knights the Storm still want to win games even if one of their key players gets injured.
