While we’re wish-listing… of all the guys not named Cleary, Moses would be the one to target.
I think he's a fullback. He looked good there in 2021 for the Storm.Problem is I don’t think Hynes is suited to being the non ball dominant half. He averages 108 running metres per game which is down from 148m last year, it’s just unheard of for a halfback to be taking on the line that much, for context Shaun Johnson has never averaged more than 83m per game in any season.
In state of origin 1 this year, he ran the ball a whopping 29 times which is an absolutely insane number for any player let alone a halfback.
This is what makes Bellamy so great. Everyone talks about how he's always got an amazing spine - but he makes those spines, too. And finds/manufactures all the pieces around them that they need to succeed. And finds a brand of football that makes them fire when they need to. He's the goat in my book.I think he's a fullback. He looked good there in 2021 for the Storm.
Hughes got manufactured into a halfback from a fullback by Bellamy, but that doesn't mean every other coach can do it or every other player can do it.
Fullback to 5/8 would be easier.
slotmachine just speculating I think. It’s unlikely the Sharks would sign him up for so long then try to punt him. I don’t think he’d be likely to leave unless he requested it.Hynes really available?? Would complement our spine to a tee!!
No pressure because Ponga is the main man and can leave the halfback duties to Gamble/Cogger. If we get him at a cut price rate, wow.

He's the one with the interest in it apparently. Bit of a surprise but not necessarily a sign he's unhappy at the Knights, it'd be a clear move up the career ladder going from head of football to a club CEO. There had been talks he was in line to fill that role here with Gardner stepping down in the next few years.
Does it really make a big difference if Gardner retires? As long as Wests own the knights he’s still going to answer whoever’s in charge at wests. Say Gardner retires tomorrow they’ll probably look for an experienced CEO from club land and he/she will just takeover Gardner’s officeYeah he’s made it quite obvious he wanted the CEO job here but Gardner keeps not retiring.
His role is always going to encompass the knights just like it encompasses all the other arms of the wests business like NEX, Balance gyms and their accommodation holdings.maybe time for Gardner to step aside. It's taken him 10 yrs to take the Knights from wooden spoon to mediocrity. Give someone else a go.
yes but he won't be micro managing. A seasoned experienced CEO, a pro to run the Knights that knows footy is needed. His role is always going to encompass the knights just like it encompasses all the other arms of the wests business like NEX, Balance gyms and their accommodation holdings.
Parr will never replace Gardner because Parr essentially only looks after a very, very small arm of the overall business
100% and the cycle continues, staff turnover and unsettle direction. If Parr leaves it will be so on point for this place.
How do we know where the allocation of responsibility lies and how much authority Parr is given besides just speculation based on what Gardner was looking after before Parr’s arrival?yes but he won't be micro managing. A seasoned experienced CEO, a pro to run the Knights that knows footy is needed.
Gardner should realize by now he's not up to it and step aside. Ultimately he is the man that signed off on the contracts dragging the Knights to mid table finishes, after 10 years that performance is unacceptable.
