I think this is a positive for us. I hope it’s not at the expense of Lamb because I feel still he’ll play an instrumental part in the Knights future.

But it’s nice to sign some big names to get everyone buzzing for the season ahead!

When you're Trent Barrett and you've just released Blake Green to try and get Mitchell Pearce only to have him sign with Nathan Brown's team.

How do ya feel?

I'd feel like more than a Toohey or two.
Best thing is we play them round 1 up here next year

And with that, the Tinkler/Bennett/Stone/Hagan years are officially behind us. Brown has done a tremendous job of cleaning up the mess that the club was left in, and in the space of two...TWO...years has taken us from having a NSW cup quality roster to a team that has the quality and talent to match the likes of Melbourne, Brisbane, Cronulla etc etc.

The next few years will be the payoff for all of us who have suffered through the last decade and a half.

According to Toohey, even after signing Pearce we still have about 1 million left in the cap for next year.

Just astounding

What does this mean for Lamb? I'm very happy with the Pearce signing but sadly I think it means Lamb walks and I for one will be very surprised if Connor Watson goes on to have a better first grade career than Brock Lamb. Ideally, I'd keep them both...

1.Kalyn Ponga
2.Nathan Ross
3.Sione Mata'utia
4.Tautau Moga
5.Shaun Kenny Dowell
6.Brock Lamb
7.Mitchell Pearce
8.Jacob Lillyman
9.Danny Levi
10.Daniel Saifiti
11.Aiden Guerra (c)
12.Jamie Buhrer
13.Mitch Barnett

14.Connor Watson
15.Jacob Saifiti
16.Herman Ese'ese
17.Dylan Napa

Watson didn’t come to play 14. If both Watson and Lamb have to be in the team, then Watson will take the vacant center position

Either Watson makes the decision himself to move to centre or Lamb drops to reserve grade. Watson is a bit of an unknown given he never had the chance to train and prepare for 5/8 but showed he's got quite a bit of talent. As disappointing as it would be that's just football and if he kills it elsewhere then good on him but right now he's not the best 7 at the club and I don't think he has the running/support play to be the best 6 at the club to compliment Pearce.

Be attached to the club, not the players. Wish the kid all the best if he wants to go elsewhere.

Fantastic news and shows how far the club has come. I still see Lamb playing a big part next year. He’s the next half in line and any injury to Pearce or Watson we will need him.

I would like to see us offer Hodkinson to Manly even if we pay most of the salary. Frees up Lamb and Cogger to play in reserves and we have some really good depth in key positions next year

I know, it's just personally what i'd like to see. For some reason I have a really bad feeling about releasing Lamb. There were times this year I thought he was by far the best player in the side with the most potential. Which says something because I think the Saifiti's, Fitz, Sione and Barny all have huge futures.

Lambs manager was already testing the market before Pearce. Didn't realise it was Gavin Orr, that bloke doesn't muck around.

I'm kinda with u. Much as it is great to sign Pearce I hope we don't live to regret letting Brock go.

If this transpires I wonder if it will affect Lamb's willingness to stay.

An injury to Pearce, Ponga, Watson, possibly even Levi and Lamb is back in the side. Not to mention a dip in form from Watson

And given our record with injury.......Brownie needs to sell Brock on the idea that form will determine his place in the team next year as it did last year. And to be fair Brownie delivered on that last year.

And yes please Manly, take Hodko. Good for us but would also be pleased for Trent who has been great off the field even if not what we wanted on it. Others would have sulked their way out of the team
