Great news re Sione.

This has definitely been mentioned on here before but does anyone think maybe we should consider Tyrone Roberts as a back-up half? He’s cut his contract with his ESL team and is coming back to Australia but hasn’t signed with anyone yet and apparently the titans can’t fit him in.

There are other teams out there who could use a half and I wouldn’t want to get into a bidding war over him but he’s got plenty of experience and covers a few spine positions and if this year has taught us anything it’s that not having decent back-up halves is a big issue.

This is just a rhetorical question and I know not everyone will agree but I can see him being pretty useful if we managed to get a player like that without overpaying. Also he could possible come here for less given that he wants to come back to be close to family again.

I’d absolutely take Tyrone back as a back up half. For all his faults he’s better than Lamb or Cogger or anyone else we’ve had fill in the past few years.

I'd take Tyrone back...but only at the right price. Sounds like he wants good dough which he's not worth. The Tits are talking like he wants ESL money to come back to them and they would have to offload players to accommodate him.

In that case, who could we pick up from them?

Watching the Matty Johns show, and he thinks the knights should be asking the bulldogs about Kieran Foran. He said it’s a high risk, high reward play. Thoughts?

I was keen on Foran before he went to the dogs. Quite frankly, I'd pay only half of what I would have a year ago. He's a shadow of his best form and seemingly broken down. Unfortunately there's not too much that has gone well for him, on or off the field, since Manly were at their top.

Off the field and his association with certain people is not what we need.

I also thought his body was pretty much cactus?

Not sure why Johns woukd be a little bullish unless he came very, very cheap?

My guess to why Johns would push for Foran to the Knights would be the fact that Foran and Pearce grew up together, and are great mates.
Unless he's cheap it's not worth it.

He is not the player he was at Manly, hasn't shown anything of late, mostly injured, wouldn't think he would push Watson or possibly Ponga out of 5/8 and likely to cost a bit for a reserve grader come back up think our money could be better spent on a prop or two.

To be honest, he was a good player at Manly - but probably slightly overrated there too for mine. His effort plays always stood out to me beyond his skill. There was a time when we were at our shittest when I would have killed to have him, but he's busted now and we're beyond it.

Yep generally my thoughts too.

The other thing I would say is that the Dogs appear to be trying to get medical dispensation to offload Foran and his contract through the NRL (we won't go into the whole dodgieness of that here) but I don't want to inherit another Snowden or similar issue...again, we are beyond that.

Aren’t the Bulldogs trying to medically retire Foran? Even if that’s not the case I would still say his days in the NRL are numbered. That guy is held together by sticky tape these days.

We’ve had our fair share of injury prone players over the years and it never ends well, big NO to Foran from me.
