Anyone know what the situation with Matt Burton at the Panthers? Seems like he is going to be pretty special in the future but is he behind some players there?

Read somewhere that Dogs are interested with Barnett becoming coach he might be inclined that way.
I'd imagine were he to become available there'd be abit of a bidding war with some desperate team probably paying way overs which would price us out

Tooheys News

- Melbourne were chasing Dom Young hard and thought they had him over the line before the Knights swooped in, with McKinnon building a strong relationship with Young's father. Had interest from union and the NFL as well. AOB says the plan isn't for him to play first grade next year but that he wouldn't discount it either.

- Moga won't be re-signed

- Best will have surgery to remove an extra bone in his foot once the season is finished, which will be his third of the year. He already had the extra bone removed from his left foot during a different surgery earlier this year and will get it done on his right foot next. He just had syndesmosis surgery and could have gotten it done at the same time but it would have ruled him out for the season.

- Josh King is off-contract but has plenty of fans within the club and is highly respected by the playing group. There's still uncertainty over the salary cap and squad sizes for next year but Toohey says re-signing King is a no-brainer.

Dom Young must be a special athlete if the NFL were interested. Excited to see him debut.

No surprise with Moga

Josh King - Lets hope its a pie and coke.

Kid we signed from the UK, just turned 19, they say he's one of the best young talents over there. Physically very impressive centre standing 198cm and 108kg
Ah right, I forgot his name lol.

It's been hard to find highlights of him but from what I've seen he looks to be excelling due to the standard over there. Really hope he is something good for us.

Every time I see Fermor for the Titans I get a little sad. I don't think it's a stretch to say he would've been one of our best edge backrowers here.

Fermor is a good line runner but his defence isn't 1st grade edge back row level

Dom Young to play centre then move to edge back row as he grows into his full frame?

Also, how is Frizzell going this year? Doesn't seem to be making any head lines and was wondering he is playing crap...

for second rowers he is 5th in run mtrs , 7th in tackle breaks,

Not too bad considering the season the Dragons are having

Edit - source fox stats

Awesome. In a bad team as well. Looks like he is going to be gun especially with out forward pack being quite strong now.

I think he'll make a massive difference to the team both on and off the field, a real pro, played at the highest level and succeeded.

The man is a beast, a mobile, stocky, low centre of gravity body shape we've been missing, add him to our pack and we are formidable no matter who we play.

Klemm, Dsaf, Barny and Frizell is a salivating prospect. Our days of being bullied are a thing of the past.

Don’t forget the re-energised Jsaf.

Include JSaf and we probably have half the blues forward pack there.

and all our young next crop of forwards learning from some of the best in the game will hopefully mean we can maintain a winning culture moving forward.

Not having a window of opportunity for a Premiership but being perennial challengers like Melbourne and the Rorters should be the aim.

I don't see why we aren't already a super club. We have:

- great youth catchment area
- just outside of Sydney (appeals to players who want to be outside the spotlight, or close enough to enjoy what Sydney offers)
- no rival club nearby
- great fanbase

Our local comp is good too right?

Hopefully we build up the structure and systems we need for continual success.

you forgot we have the best looking colour scheme and jersey in the comp.....who wouldnt want to wear the red and blue :)

If we're still up the ladder and challenging for the Premiership in 5 or so years maybe we're on the road to being a power club.

I think 3rd party deals and sponsorship dollars are as important as anything else in our ambition to make that happen.

Does anyone know if they've started building the Centre of Excellence yet?
