At this time of year we have much activity with little or no results except rumours, don’t think we will see big changes, same squad except for minor changes that will neither see improvements or failures.
Basically we will have what we have with some non local additives that might take a year or two to settle.
We have 5-6 young up and coming locals who can fill our needs, not sure why they are not being seriously considered for inclusion in squad, hopefully at least development position
We are overloaded with players who play many positions without being good enough to make A position there own costing us players who specialise in A position, 5/8 for example
King for example, we have lost several middle forwards without signing anyone similar, can only assume that we are letting local player stand idle to see what we might get and if no one then we might sign him, I’m not a big King fan, or Saulo for that matter but we are an injury away from a shortage of middle forwards.
Bottom line is our squad seems a bit uneven

No argument from me.

Mann, Watson and possibly Hoy are all capable utility options but not good enough for any specialist position in a team aiming for a Premiership..

Possibly Hoy who is a fullback could develop into a 5/8 but this would be years away and right now the team isnt going well enough to offer enough support to a young player on a steep learning curve and he isnt what's needed to help Pearce......and where does it leave Crossland ?

On the subject of King I'd rather offer a pie and a coke to a young player with the possibility to become something, possibly a great player. Although he's improved I'm not sure if King at 27 years of age would be in the Storm or Roosters rosters and that's what we are aiming to be - Premiers.

If we intended to re-sign King I'd think he would be up on our teams list

With Green looking certain I don't think we'll be looking for a 6 for next year. 2022 might be different.
We'll have a month before Green can play.
Pre season I reckon we see who has what at 6 and let that decide who gets the start early on. Magic might happen and some of these guys might learn new tricks. I reckon we'll go for Mann.

Bit worrisome if we're relying on a mid 30s, semi-retired, ACL injury journeyman to be the 5/8th to take us to the Premiership. Basically writing off next season?

Not saying he will be terrible but surely we need a better option A.
I think he will go good and we need a player like him, but yeah, maybe a younger, healthier him.
