Kidding yourself on all 3.Anasta and Sherwin for starters
add to that the dud combos that have made it to the GF
Hodkinson and Reynolds
Robson and Mortimer
Anasta and Sherwin is particularly hilarious, and others have already pointed out why. Farcical.
Hodkinson was a great half before his knees blew up, and Reynolds was 10 times the competitor of either of our blokes. Hodkinsons kicking game was fantastic. I'd kill for a prime Josh Reynolds in the 6 right now.
Mortimer is probably the only one of any of those you've named that have shown as little and been as inconsistent and underwhelming as our duo. Robson was a very handy 7. Also - when did Robson and Mortimer win a premiership together again? I remember Jarryd Hayne and Fuifui Moimoi carrying their asses to a grand final in 2009. You'll have to refresh my memory of when they actually won a comp.
If Clune and Clifford won a premiership they would be orders of magnitude the worst halves combination to win a premiership in the NRL era certainly, and possibly even ARL and NSWRL eras too. Clifford is 24 and Clune is 25 - and neither of them have even nailed down a starting spot in the NRL at their respective ages. We need to do better, and I hope no-one at the club is looking at the ones we've got and thinking that it's adequate.
