Surely we can't sign Walker? Surely not right? We freeing up DSaf, Brailey and Hastings for Walker? Surely not? Our club ain't that competent right? What a statement by O'Sullivan if he manages to pull it off.

Another issue is AOB. Walker is literally the spiritual opposite of AOB. If we sign Walker and move AOB on in the same window, wow.

What about the young bloke Su'a to replace DSaf?. Probably just as much output with twice the passion.

I agree the spine is a worry. 600K in the kitty just isnt enough.

If we could offload Hastings and or Brailey ( no one will take Brailey ) I'd throw the kitchen sink at Walker. He'll be a superstar.
A Kid who hasnt even played FG yet?

Man thats a biiiiig gamble

Probably not no, but we definitely won't if we don't make an offer.

From what I've heard, the reason the Dragons have gone colder on Saf is because we're playing hard ball (at least by our standards) with regard to how much we're willing to tip in. We drew a line, and it's not where they wanted it.
Is that the O’Sullivan influence already kicking in? Cos he seems to have gone to his former Club and struck a great deal for us.

We could pay full freight for Dan Saifiti to play elsewhere and wouldn’t necessarily be worse off.

Yes, I’m kidding, but there is evidence that supports it.

200k is a steal.

I'd have dropped Dsaf 2 seasons ago. IMO the coach played his part in where we are now with Dsaf

Short term pain for long term gain and strengthen the clubs culture would have been to drop his ass for lack of effort.

A rookie could hardly be worse than what Dsaf has given the last 2 seasons. Those performances and lack of effort is cancer to a playing group.

Says more about the fact he has been playing well knowing he was leaving. We have been right about him and his brother for years. They love the club alright. The money they donate to charity.

I think its a classic case of "good enough" comes too easy for them, so they can't sustain the extra gear because they don't have to find it to get a pass mark.

I wouldn't say his output over the past 3 odd years has been a pass mark. More accurate to say they can plod along because they're hoovering up all of our cap money designated for front-rowers, and as a result there's no-one left at the club who can push them to perform.

Let me rephrase.

They can get "up" to get a contract, or at rep level.

They can't sustain it because they aren't hungry.

They aren't hungry because talent alone has been enough to not drop out of FG. And no matter what they say, they don't really see anything beyond that as a realistic goal. Probably ruined by the era they came up in.

Any other rep-quality prop would be pissed to have Thompson come to the club from nowhere and start in front of them. Both of them just took it and didn't aim up.

Big Tony Williams energy.

Yep, sums them up, especially Daniel. The Tony Williams of props.

They also both got a taste of Origin and that didn't help either. For most players an opportunity like that has the opposite effect.

to be successful in the era of salary cap, players need to be playing above their pay grade - we have too many playing below the pay grade, Dsaf is one of em.

If he really loved the club he'd be aiming up every week. Shame coaches and the leadership group didnt tear him a new ass long ago.

He was pretty good again today. It's such a pity only half his runs are any good. Plays garbage but gets over 100 metres a game. Could be a 200m forward every week.
