If we got Reynolds for 2026 and Brown playing 7 & 6 what happens to Sharpe, if back to wing we have wasted a season of development, Cup to play 6 or 7 would he learn anything and from whom

Kinda on the fence about Dom coming back. I want our 2023 Dom, not Roosters Dom. And for a good price.

Yeah, definitely only want him back with the Roosters chipping in a fair amount. At the moment they need him gone more than we need him so we can’t let them bully us.

We don’t even know if both parties are interested. We’ve been named at the obvious destination but he might end up at another Sydney club if he wants to stay there. Either way it’s good for him. It obviously wasn’t working for him there.

Regardless of form I’m sure he’ll be a boost in confidence. That speed he offers. Playing outside Gags again will also boost gags spirits. No offense to Schiller but his speed has let him down a little this year.

I reckon the only difference between 2023 Dom and 2025 Dom is that 2023 Dom was happy, wanted by his teammates, looked after by his centre and far more of a focal point for our attack than he was ever going to be at the Roosters. He just didn't fit in down there.

I have question marks over how he will go without Gags inside him long term, but right now I think it's a no brainer. Bring him home. He won't fix all our issues, but he's an asset to us. Price tag is the only question mark for me. Would be nice if the Roosters chipped in 100k of it for a couple of years. Having said that, when Dom was at his best, we were all willing to pay that price too.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head with the feeling wanted by teammates thing.

On the money, he’s not at his best anymore and rival clubs have worked him out. No way I’d want us to pay him what we were prepared to offer before. I definitely agree he’d get better again here, it was just a really bad fit at the Roosters obviously, but that’s still too much money.

Funny thing is, if we do end up re-signing him and on a reduced rate, his little vacation at the Roosters might have been the best thing that could have happened for us lol. His value has crashed.

This doesn’t guarantee that he’ll come back to the Knights, there are other clubs out there who probably have more $$$ than us to spend immediately if they want to, but we are the logical choice given he killed it when he was here last and it’s pretty much the same squad as when he was here before so you’d think he’d fit right back in.

His metres out of the back field would be amazing for us right now. In that 2023 season him and Greg were just unbelievable at getting our sets off to a good start. If you’re the opposition, who do you kick to? Greg Marzhew who bumps people off for fun and often gets an offload away? Dom Young who just makes a tonne of metres and either gets a quick PTB or penalty? Or do you kick to KP who can destroy a broken kick chase line and make a line-break. Take your pick.

His defence was never his strongest attribute anyway and he was still a bit of a liability at times here too, but the good far outweighed the bad. I think Gagai had a lot to do with that tbh. He’s one of the best centres in the game at putting his winger away and Dom is quick enough and big enough to make even a half chance turn into a try in the corner.

Dom wasn’t getting that sort of service last year outside of Manu and he’s definitely not getting it this year on the end of a largely rookie backline.

This is actually a huge deal. Marzhew is somewhat nullified at the moment because the obvious thing to do is just kick to him. He gets none of those first up carrries anymore. Having a weapon for that tackle 1 carry on either side of the field is a big deal for us, especially as we're struggling in the middle.
