He needs to focus on his final season mate. We need long term solutions.

Adam Doueihi. (Only goal kicking 73% this year)
He has a long kicking game.
Who is doing the long kicks for Newcastle next season?
Could play him 13 and move Crossland back to 9.
Not fan of Crossland at 9 though.

AD is a quality utility. But I don’t see him
As a O’Sullivan type signing. Joey on the other hand needs to keep up with news around this club. For the greatest player this club will ever likely see, his news sources are poor at best. He is Speculating we are making, or should make a move for Pezet. What part of us signing Brown did he miss?

Not sure if it means anything in terms of AOB’s future, but apparently he (+ Green and Bedsy) met with Mooney today when he was touring the facilities. Pretty sure when De Silva visited a few weeks ago it was only POS and Green?

I haven’t watched much Canberra at all this year….is he any good?

He has only played like 2 games of NRL so haven't missed much.

My only memory of him is scoring at try against us in the 2023 QF.

Surprised by his minutes in NSW cup, never really played more than 40-odd min in any game of NRL. Seems to have a bit more attacking stats than Paulo, but worse defensively.

Yeah I think Hola happens anyway. Elliott & Hetho are both gooooorrrrrn in addition to Leo. So we're signing middles to a team which was already short on middles and is losing three of them.

If Frizell leaves as well and we get Mooney we'll have:

Specialist middles: J Saf, Mooney, Saulo, Crouch, Croker, ESL, Sullivan, Hopwood, Hola.
Tweeners: Jones, Cant.
Back row: Lucas, McEwen, Manulelua.
Hooker or utility: Crossland, Arthur.

And then Crossland likely playing a lot of lock. About half of your top 30 being forwards is about standard.

Also besides Saulo, Mooney would be the only new middle signing who I'm confident is ready to start in an NRL game this weekend and acquit himself well. Others are a mix of long term development guys and very very cheap depth.

One thing we have learnt about Sully, is he will not give up the chase for a player if he truly believes they are a special talent. If you asked him, I reckon he would tell you Brown has wasted his early career at Parramatta completely.

I am still waiting to hear about the dummy half Toohey claims we are after, Wishart being the alternative option. Given the wraps Wishart is getting it must be someone of significance. Perhaps Toohey knows and has been sworn to secrecy.

That recruitment we have done in the forwards is banking on development. Not paying overs. It also frees up a lot of money.
We are potentially investing the big $$ in the spine it would appear. We have also got Dane on a steal. It is wise what we are doing. It may not appear that way right now but the player market is about to open right up in the next 24 months. Even if a lot of it will be smoke and mirrors to get more money and leverage at their existing clubs. But the winners will be the clubs with liquid cap space.
