De gois on the cheap would be ok. I reckon Wallace would be a good option. He is tough with a good kicking game and can cover halves. Surely he would not cost heaps?

I think that too Hindy, but something tells me he may want upwards of around $400k. I think he is on around $600k at the moment.

But if we could get him for that $250-300k mark, he would be the best experienced option on the market I think. Ticks a lot of boxes.

MELBOURNE Storm first threw Cheyse Blair and Ryan Morgan into the centres due to sheer lack of numbers.

Now, according to Storm coach Craig Bellamy, the unlikely pairing will be hard to take out of a rampaging Melbourne side that has won seven games in a row.

In another remarkable Bellamy success story, the recycled Blair and Morgan – the latter of which joined the club just last month – have proved pivotal in Storm’s surge to the top of the NRL ladder.

While Storm’s proximity away from rugby league’s heartland means it will never receive the accolades it deserves, the club’s 11-2 start to the season is remarkable given the circumstances.

The club’s lofty ladder position belies an early season outside backs crisis the likes of which it had never experienced before.

Along the way, Storm also lost Young Tonumaipea – the club’s best outside back early on – while winger Marika Koroibete also missed a few weeks.

Although that allowed the club to discover Fijian rookie Suliasi Vunivalu.

Rookie centre Curtis Scott broke a leg early on and fellow back Jeremy Hawkins suffered a bad hamstring tear.

Tonumaipea and Scott are now available but are battling to force their way back in.

“(Cheyse) came down at the end of last year and financially it wasn’t a great deal, but he didn’t have a whole heap of other places to go I don’t think,” Bellamy said.

“To be honest, Cheyse’s form in the Queensland Cup probably didn’t warrant him a first-grade spot, but we just ran out of troops in our outside backs.

“But since then, it seems the higher level of game the more he adapts to it and he’s been really good in his four or five games with us.

“While he keeps playing this way, he’s going to be hard to move.”

Morgan, meanwhile, joined Storm from Parramatta just last month and was almost immediately thrown in.

“Morgs arrived here and played one game with our feeder team up at Tweed Heads,” Bellamy said.

“I probably didn’t think of using him for probably two or three weeks at least, but we got some injuries.

“And he hadn’t played for a number of weeks for the Eels as well or even their feeder team.

“In terms of match fitness he was under done but he was the only centre we had left, so we put him in and he’s done a great job as well.”

Bellamy paid tribute to the pair for taking their opportunity and not letting go.

“Sometimes you don’t know when it is going to come, but they accepted it with both hands,” he said.

“They’re doing a tremendous job for us at the moment so hopefully they keep it up.

“You love seeing guys go through a bit of adversity and come out the other side.”

I know it's not fashionable to praise Melbourne but they continue to amaze me with what they do. Bellamy is a genius.

Wallace would not be on 600k ram.Know one wanted him.And penrith have offered him a contract for 2017 saying youl play time in Nsw cup.
If he is good enough to be a back up for penrith he would not of been offered huge $$.
But Uk is an option for him

I would go for Wallace for starting hooker and ley kaysa come on later as athr kamikaze 14.

You would also have a handy backup halfback

Why waste $400k on Wallace when we can keep de gois for around $200k ?

I don't think Wallace is worth twice as much as De gois. Would rather spend that extra $200k on a prop.

Plus Pritchard will be better then both next year.

Wallace is a good dummy half but is he a good defensive hooker? You want more aggression out of your 9, especially the way we defend.

I'd be inclined to agree with this, we've already offered IDG unders, why would we go spending over twice what IDG wants for a comparable player of probably equal value.

May as well give IDG the extra 100K he's asking for, it's cheaper for us, he's already here and he has been going well enough.

Pritchard is going to be the primary 9 going forward anyways.

Morgan was a good player before he went to the Storm but now he is playing behind a big pack going forward and is getting early ball so he can show off his skills.

He has the most limited skills of any three quarter in the comp.

His strength - pretty much his only one - is straight hole running.

At least they play a game to give him a chance to do that but he's not exactly murdering them. He's chiming into the occasional hole. Melb's best players are flying and they've played some weak sides.

Blair and Morgan won't be contributing anything when the big games come around against the good sides

Agree: Early ball plus being put through holes. Imagine Jenkovich with that sort of quality ball.

All that aside, he is showing up a few here

that he really is a genuine FG NRL player, no matter what they say.

BA conceded in his presser yesterday that Morgan will more then likely be staying put in Melbourne after this season.
