If we keep Norman, he only needs an "average" partner in the halves.

Yes, but I am replying to the post speculating if we lost Foran and Norman and Hayne doesn''t sign. We can't win much with 2 average halves. And the mail is that Cronk is a certainty to re-sign with the Storm.

Sweet. Yeah if that happens, BA will have some work to do. But we would have something like $2million to spend.

I reckon we can win plenty with average halves. They will go a lot better with a strong team around them. Make a play for someone better next year.

Notice the amount of great posts after I posted my exclusive to all you merkins? More footy talk and less rubbish. However some still want to complain and accuse me of talking out of my arse.

Anyway I just spoke to my Roosters contact. I was wrong, it isn't Pearce. He is on a truckload of cash. The highest at their club. We are definitely enquiring about Hastings. Apparently he is also a competent goal kicker.

I have a feeling (This is definitely just a gut feel) that Hayne will not return now.

I've had a feeling that Hayne will not return since October 2014...

But thanks for the update regarding Hasting being a subject of our enquiries. If Norman is going to go I would prefer to chase Cronk and whoever else we can get in the halves. But if Norman is being re-signed, then Hastings would be an OK halves partner.

FFS, get over it....

First I want an apology. And not a sarcastic one. ;)

Like I said in the other thread I think you could be right and it will be very tough to get Hayne back now. I wont even gloat if we do get him. OK maybe a bit.

Apology for what.. and from who...? o_O No-one here's immune from having to justify their posts from time to time - whether they be opinion, rumour, leak, or gut feeling. We all just get on with it and keep posting regardless!

All good. I'm not a gloater either... ;) I just never thought he'd come back after not wanting to play league anymore. And I didn't think he's be a good value signing for us especially after spending two years avoiding the game that made him who he is.

After winning Origin Hayne's eyes have always been on something other than Parra and league, and imo he was never coming back - he's athletic and skilled enough to be able to pick up a pay check and more interesting future adventures elsewhere.

The feeling in union circles is he is sounding out the possibility of making Australian team ahead of world cup. If they give him good indication then expect to see him in Super 12 next season with probably the Brumbies. If not, he'll take better playing dollars overseas and walk into Fiji team.

My gut still tells me that he's thinking of doing an SBW, if we sign him, we'll only have him until end of next year
