I’ve heard him refer to this a few times. He actually says Fitler was a phenomenal payer at a young age but he believes Galvin is much more complete at a similar age.

He might not be wrong.

Fittler had phenomenal size, strength and mobility as an 18 year old. He played centers and looked the part.
But he didn't develop as a playmaker and game manager until later his career.

Could be what Gus is referring to. Personally I am struck by how well Galvin can pick his moments, and the feel he has for running passing or kicking. He definitely gets it wrong, but size speed skill and game management at his age? It is rare.
