I reckon the $700k figure could be close to the mark for 2018/19 and that we've offered a massive amount for the rest of 2017 (eg. $5-600k) as an incentive. We're about halfway through the NRL contract year so that's quite a sweetener with the salary he has already earnt. We have to spend our remaining cap on someone and so far only Tep has extended since MJC's indication of our war chest. The only other possibility to spend the cash would be on a mid season transfer for Peats.

Must be hard to forward plan when clubs are supposedly working towards a $10m cap in 2018 only to be told its $8.3m.

It obviously doesn't help. But there's nothing stopping clubs offering a fixed salary, plus a portion of the final increase in the salary cap.

Would they be interested in Hassan, Gower, King, O'Brien, Niukore, Woods, Tanginoa but ? Surely we would not release anyone else ? Alvaro ?

Tigers need a full rebuild. Better to blow the whole thing up and start again. I wouldn't pay woods 1 mill. If he didn't have a lovaebale character and long hair he would demand half that.
Is he any better then Klemmer of Fafita who are on aroun the 500-600 mark?

Terepo is surplus as it stands right now and would be the only real possibility out of the list you provided (from a Tigers perspective)

He would also fall further down the pecking order if we have signed Evans.

I'd be keeping Alvaro... maybe give 'em Rory and Gower.. Probably not a very attractive trade as far as the Tigers are concerned, 2 Wenty regulars, albeit NRL capable, for a young half many have earmarked for greatness down the track. Then again, Moses may yet amount to nothing but an inconsistent rocks and diamonds player in the Ben Roberts mould so maybe it's a fair trade?
