When we start winning consistently our best players will start playing Origin. They are as good as plenty of Origin players, but those ones get picked because their teams play regular finals footy.

Only genuine Origin players like Hayne, Jennings and Woods, get picked no matter how poor their team is going. And there is far less fewer than 34 genuine Origin players. Even the Queenslanders have to round out their team with mere solid first graders like O'Neill, Myles and Lilyman.

900k for a prop is the reality of the game today. matt scott was looking at 800k with the knights before he busted his knee. he was the games benchmark, but the reality is that players will always get paid similar on potential and number of years remaining in the game

i'm not saying woods deserves top $ but the figurs aren't as crazy as some suggest.

if we got him at about 700k to 800 i'd be quite happy especially considering what paulo cost to move away

The number of minutes they play, and their involvement (runs and tackles) during those minutes also counts toward their value.

At the risk of upsetting everyone ... the way I see it we have a premiership window off 2018 \2019 (quite a few of our guns are off contract end '19), thus potentially it will be a disruptive year ...

I would be going all out to offer our EX golden boy $750k a season to come back and play with his mates and win a premiership at parra. His either on the BA bus or off it ... maturity is a wonderful gift and hopefully he has matured. Lets face it it was never going to work at the Titans he's heart wasn't in it.

If that's not enough ... go find a new dream

It won't be an option (and I would rather a specialist!!), but what is stopping Taka playing wing ?

Yeah I know he isn't the quickest player, which won't help with how we defend (but he is probably quicker then buretto).

But he does have the height / running ability for a wing spot.

Obviously his skill set would be wasted but he needs to play somewhere.

I realise wingers these days are probably more about power than speed, and that's to Taka's advantage if we went down the route you suggest.... But I don't see it happening... I get the feeling that come seasons end, if not before if Moses comes across early, Taka will be given permission to explore opportunities elsewhere. I don't reckon he'd have too much trouble finding a club. Would be a shame if it hapens as he seems to have become part of the fabric within the team BA has/is putting together...

My 85% is on the line with Tepai. His first 4 games showed me a little tougher in defense but still not hitting line like id like. And doesn't get that involved. mr 85% = mr85mtrs a game.

Well considering Bev uses semi as his hit up person on kick returns Taka could actually take that role when Semi goes.
