However, when was the last time we beat the Tigs? Can't remember but think they are a bogy team for us, a bit like the Titans.
Every freaking team is a bogey team for us!

Though we did beat them on Easter Monday last year... 8-nil Junior Paulo scored a dubious try....

So the Panthers hope the cap is $9.3m next year but if only $9m they want a $300k exemption. How they fit their entire squad under the cap for this year is dumb founding. I mean Tamou and Merrin probably take $1.4m between them so how all the rest fit is amazing. As most are juniors probably they sign on for less?
another mention of it seems the dopey duke wants it changed not just because he has gone silly and spent too much, but so he can spend it signing up even more players

PANTHER PROBLEM

Penrith have been forced to slow down on the retention front with the uncertainty of the 2018 salary cap leaving them in a state of limbo.

While the bulk of their top line squad is locked up long term, several depth and first grade talents remain unsigned. To complicate matters, the Panthers want to keep them.

They are: Sitaleki Akauola, Corey Harawira-Naera, Sione Katoa and Viliame Kikau.

All four remain off contract and without knowing what the cap will be, the Panthers would put themselves at risk of going over the cap and having to shed players if they re-sign them without knowing a figure for 2018.

f**ken Panthers trying to have your cake and eat it too. If other clubs knew the final cap they would probably be making offers for the players you're trying to re-sign.

Hello an opening for us to get Kikau, anybody else we want or need? Need to make an offer now. Read somewhere BA likes Kikau so maybe we will get him. Gus, you can't keep them all!!!!!!!!!

If Gus thinks he can win without a player costing $1M then he doesn't have to pay it.

Agree. He should not be talking in $ values. He should determine what he thinks a marquee player is worth as a percentage of his cap and pay accordingly.

If he wants to whinge about something, how about the elephant in the room - Broncos TPAs - which give them $Ms more cash than the rest of the (currently not cheating) clubs.

I was going to ask if that's what he's really on about. The Broncos push up prices for all players.
