Yeah, I doubt we will sign Reynolds - but it's always great to have a player like him in your side, imo.
A real effort player.
Tbh, I'm a fan, despite his limitations and grubbiness.
For all his limitations he is one guy you'd have in the trenches with you he's won games on enthusiasm and desire alone... I hate to say it but the only bloke at our club that carries that same hunger and desire is sitting on the sidelines with headaches...
They looked better with Mbye at hooker because he's a better attacking player and they had all the ball. Mbye also missed three tackles in the second half and conceded two penalties. Frawley missed two tackles from five attempts. And after yesterday I'm convinced more than ever, despite Pou's protestations, that Mbye needs to go to hooker when Foran and/or Cronk get there next year. Dogs were infinitely better yesterday when Licha went off and Frawley came in to the halves. I was of the opinion earlier in the week that Lichaa would be a handy pick up for next year. I'm having second thoughts now.
But we have halves so where would he play?Yeah, I doubt we will sign Reynolds - but it's always great to have a player like him in your side, imo.

well he grew up a Roosters fan so why wouldn't he?Would he have the same desire for another club though?
Effort is more valuable as an NRL quality than it has ever been. The key to the modern game is numbers - whether in the kick chase, numbers in the tackle, or getting as much support around the ball as possible. And Reynolds' skills are good enough - he has played in two grand finals and been picked for Origin. None of that happens for a half without skill.Yes, his skills may be lacking but we just can't get enough of that awesome passion. That's all you really need as a professional football player - passion.
Maybe we can get a trophy for being the most passionate team.

The main stat I'm interested in is this one - 24 points to 9 - and all the damage done on the scoreboard was done when Lichaa wasn't playing and Mbye went to hooker. Dogs were dominant despite the missed tackles and penalties conceded you mentioned - so how good will they be going when they cut those mistakes out of their game? They looked better with Mbye at hooker because he's a better attacking player and they had all the ball. Agree and why i reckon Panthers struggle. But also why they can blow you off park. Skill.Effort is more valuable as an NRL quality than it has ever been. Also played Origin and in grand finals.Brett Finch played with plenty of passion
How bad were Souths? And is one game a big enough sample? The main stat I'm interested in is this one - 24 points to 9 - and all the damage done on the scoreboard was done when Lichaa wasn't playing and Mbye went to hooker. I don't think he's especially skillful either, but I do think he's 'skillful enough'. So do the other posters who say they would be happy with the signing.Nothing wrong with effort. Effort is a valuable trait. But you need to combine it with skill.
Does Reynolds have those skills? That may be debatable. I don't think so. You do think so.
But those posters in this thread who previously said "he doesn't have much skill, but he shows lots of effort" (paraphrasing of course) obviously don't think so either. Which is why I thought it ludicrous to see anyone say that we should sign someone for their effort alone, when they don't think they are skillful enough.
