Describing it in terms of whether a team 'can win' is intellectually dishonest. Every team 'can win' and also 'can lose' - the best team this year will lose games and the worst team will (probably) win some. What matters is win rate, and this is negatively impacted by unavailable players.

Brisbane had 3 first graders out.....same number as the Tigers had out when Parra couldnt beat last years 12th place team.

Obviously that doesn't take into account mid-game injuries, that are much harder to compensate for. Haas was a huge loss but so was second choice fullback Arthars. Nobody wants to have to reply on Hayze Perham.

I think it’s fair to say he won’t play under Flanno again, that bloke isn’t surviving another month of football - and with their 2026 over at 0-7 you’d think whichever coach is incoming will want to start building standards and structures from day 1 to build into the pre-season and then 27 - none of which Su’a is part of. Would really make no sense to retain him when you can also free up some cash by letting him go

I would be looking at Ali Leiataua. He will be a gun. His contract expires in 2027, but I don't think the Warriors would be able to throw to much at him considering how many quality players they have in the squad.

Also if we do think we have anyone better than Chanel Harris-Tevita I would go hard for him too. He isn't just a great attacking weapon but probably in the top 3 defensive 5/8th in the game. Since Brown left, Heaven knows we can do with all the help we can get defensively in that area.
