I noticed in the NRL rumour thread that others are LOLing at us signing Moses for a) overs and b) he's a flakey myth.

I admit that I don't watch other games all that much, but from what I have seen he is young but has a nice pass, good kicking game, likes to dart around the edge with his speed over 15m. Can kick goals 75%+.

Is he really a dud ?

I don't think so.

He's inconsistent, but he's usually one of the Tigers' most dangerous players.

At the moment, he's the only attacking threat for the Tigers (in terms of kicking), and it's simpler to shut him down.

Has mistakes in him and is defensively suspect, but that also describes Luke Brooks who Tigers fans seem chuffed to have kept....Moses is a better defender than Brooks

I think a lot of the criticism comes down to personality TBH. Moses comes off as a bit of a show pony, maybe a bit of an ego, and that puts a lot of people offside, particularly when said player hasn't actually achieved much in their career to date.

Will Smith didnt defend too badly although he wasnt defending in the centre, could he be the 14 for us?

Alvaro is probably surplus atm

There must be someone in Wenty who would do a little better than Alvaro. Even against a tired Cowboys pack he was dominated and we looked vulnerable midway through that second half.

Alvaro undoubtedly tries hard, but I'd be willing to give someone like Twal a shot.
There's no doubt Twal will overtake Alvaro.

Vave is getting back to his barnstorming 2016 form. Loving him.

It's mind boggling that useless bearded merkin is still in the role, of course he was willing to sell the farm to keep his own job. It's why they are still struggling to come to a cap agreement this late in the game. The commission has been an absolute failure just like their bunker.

He's been copping it because he has been terrible the last couple of weeks and people have short memories. Tigers look like they have done well losing him and gaining Reynolds who has been white hot last few weeks.

Both those games it appeared to me Moses just had other things in his mind which is understandable. Was trying to force his hand a bit much yada yada yada.

General wrap from a close Tigers supporter who knows his footy:

Positives :
Good passer of the ball
Long kicking game
Dangerous down short sides
Deceptively fast and strong
Competitor

Negatives :
Short kicking game
Decision making/inconsistency
Defence

I think his form towards the end of last year showed there is a talented player there, change of scenery should do him the world of good.

Whether he gels with our systems remains to be seen. At least he is a genuine 6 not a makeshift one.

A lot of their comments are inflated at the moment because someone has been winding them up ;)

He will need to be protected in the line, he's an old school spot player so his mates on either side of his shoulder are going to know he's there, thats where we failed with sandow...
In saying that, great kicking and passing game and with guth, Bev and normz will destroy the guts of and opposing middle D that are struggling..

I think I'd prefer polar than a lazier middle forward from wenty who would struggle to plug up a hole in the middle when we need him to

Kaysa is in i guess first year in first grade.
He played perhaps 20 mins a gane last year as a backrower and perhaps 5-10 as a hooker.
Prior he played i think 1 or 2 games as starting hooker.
After 9 full games this season he has had 2 very good games when the pacls dominated. Maybe 3 average games and 4 ordinary to bad.

Where does this rate? Is he improving?
Abc said he is and also.a guy to watcg in future years.

Im not sure how Kaysa will end up but he needs a full season before ill judge.
24 games starting at hooker.
The possitives are he lpoks to be getting more confident and has a great attitude.
2-3 more kilos and he might be serviceable

Twal ain't lazy. Noticed he played the full first half at prop televised two games back. Came back for the next 10, then finished the game off.

Just needs an nrl break. Needs to play in front of 20k rather than 50 people and 2 dogs.

Twal will get dominated from the word go... The non televised games have shown that he needs to get tougher

How many of Kaysa misses ended in line breaks?
And do you think his fitness will improve or cant?

Will a few extra kilos help his defense?

I reckon he gets ragdolles a little and if can put on a few more kgs

Fair enough, you've watched more games than myself.
But from what I've seen potential wise, I'd rather sign Twal long term (20 yo) than guys like Obrien and Alvaro.

Kaysa has come on leaps and bounds in the last month in particular after a slow start.

He's now contributing offensively and putting up solid numbers in defence...

If he keeps it up for the rest of the season I see no reason why we would need to recruit a hooker anymore

I think last night Kaysa showed what he can do if he concentrates on his strengths. He is fast off the mark rather than having a money ball or a deft kick. So just focus for now and get very good at it.

So to his credit he was a menace darting around the markers and that gave us unpredictability, rather than just shifting it every play.

To his credit, Kaysa does not shy away from the collision and targeting the small guy does not necessarily benefit sides.

He's not a kicker and doesn't need to be with Moses and Norman now providing options and balance.

Overall spine looks better balanced
