I think that is what Pou is saying. Pou isn't suggesting Parra sign him. He is suggesting that Slater might not be on the massive amount people assume. He is getting on, slowing down and is injury prone. Not to mention they have a very capable young fullback in Munster.

yeah, he was asking for a hypothetical estimate of what we think he'd be worth should we sign him, but an opinion of "I don't want to pay him anything" is still an opinion.

However, I would think he will probably fetch a pretty good amount ($600K+) on the open market, just because someone will be desperate enough to get him, so they'll pay overs.

Still a better player than Gordon, but I agree he's more injury prone and doesn't kick goals. I would actually take Slater for $300k if we needed a fullback (though we don't), but a club with a young squad that needed some experience and leadership as well as a fullback could probably offer him more.

Actually Pou has a really good point.

It could turn into a Corey Parker type situation, he may want to finish his career at Melbourne, and if they don't offer him an extension, he just decide to retire rather than chase money at another club.

But I don't know about that, I think Slater is all about money, and if he can't stay in Melbourne he'll try his best to get good money at another club. No basis for this opinion, just my impression of him.
