Full of crap that piece. They suggest he may head back to manly in 2018 as it may be best for him to be around mates. Seriously what ex teammates of his will actually be there in 2018. Cherry and not many more.

Foz is just upset cause he heard that Avenger doesn't like him...

Is Slater even that valuable any more? If he was available to come to Parra what's the most you guys would want us to pay him under the cap? Bear in mind his likelihood of getting injured again.

I am of the opinion we need to stop signing end-of-career players. In the long run, it doesn't really do us any favours. Regardless of how good Slater is, he has very limited time left in the game, and now he's become an injury risk.

Any contract he signs now will be a last ditch payday contract, and we don't want that..

I think that is what Pou is saying. Pou isn't suggesting Parra sign him. He is suggesting that Slater might not be on the massive amount people assume. He is getting on, slowing down and is injury prone. Not to mention they have a very capable young fullback in Munster.

$300k tops. You reckon he will take it? Not much better than Michael Gordon, far more injury prone and he can't kick goals. How's that logic?

If Slater was offered to us for $500k, based on our current roster we would have to consider signing him.

He is still a great player and injury free he could take our current roster close to a top 2 side.

Very good play making skills, good support play and underrated defensively. Plus has that winners mentality.

He would make a huge difference to our attack.

However it would be a hard decision due to his injuries.l

There is a reasonable argument in opting for French/Gutherson and not going after Hayne. That one I accept but going down the path of trying to buy Slater is beyond ridiculous. We may aswell ditch Norman and sign Benji Marshall. Similar way of thinking.
