Out of Farah, Peats, De Gois, Pritchard who do you think we would get the best value from if they all were going to cost $250k per year?

Well, if that was the choice, probably Peats / Pritchard (simply coz Farah would get the shits at not being the starting hooker and start to piss off the coach, the coach's tennis partners etc)

So if he's worth around $350-$400k, Is he worth $550-600k to the Tigers to pay him to play elsewhere?

Assuming these $$ are in the ballpark, from the Tigers' perspective it's a question of whether the the $350-400k that they might save on the cap can be better spent on another player(players). What they pay Farah to play elsewhere in 2017 isn't directly relevant....they've got to pay $900k in total regardless. They either pay Farah $900 k to play with wests, or they pay Farah $550-600k to play elsewhere, and pay another player(s) $350-400k to play for Wests. The question is: can they find a player or players who add more to their squad than Farah for $350-400k.

They have already.

Jacob Liddell. Young player but was very good on debut and has been playing good footy in their lower grades.

I think Taylor stuffed up by not letting Farah go earlier though.

I think JT's problem with Farah is his "leadership", he has a couple of young halves who are pretty dynamic in Brooks and Moses, but they are young, and Farah's leadership may not be the best thing for their development, or the way the Tigers play. JT would want his halves to lead the team around, and Farah would be the type of bloke to just over ride them and call the shots on field.

So, I reckon whether as a club you would sign Farah would depend on the make up of your squad, he would be a valuable pick up to a club with strong experienced halves who won't cop his ego, and a leadership group that buys into the coach's vision of how the club plays the game.

The issue any team has signing Farah is not so much how much you have to pay him in 2017, but how much is he going to want in 2018 and 2019, assuming he wants to go around for 3 more seasons. I think he has indicated he wants to play at least until the end of 2018. It's great if you pick him up for 350K for 2017, but if you have to then fork out 700K+ for 2018 when you start paying his full freight, that's where a team loses out. You'd think this being his last contract he'll be looking to squeeze as much out of the lemon as possible...

Imagine if SOO 3 was next week.

Would Loz pick a hooker from reserve grade to play for NSW ?

Our lines are open.

Whoever offers to take on the largest chunk of Farah's salary probably gets him. You'd have to imagine if it got into a bidding war the Tigers could clear $500k+ for next season of his salary.

Farah should muddy the waters by coming to an agreement with a club, and then telling the Tigers he won't move except to that club. If that scenario plays out he could probably be had at around the $400k mark.

In the end, whatever money is freed up is good money from the Tigers perspective. Farah is a cancer to that team, and simply has to go. He won't play the style he is directed to, and yet another coach has no interest in framing an entire gameplan around a hooker. 'PASS IT TO THE HALVES ROBBIE'

No one really wants Farah or he would have been at another club now.

Look at all the centres that changed clubs during the offseason, everyone was throwing money at them.

Yet there was Farah a spine player and probably in the top 3 hookers in the game with the Tigers willing to pay a fair chunk of his salary to play someone else. No one was seriously interested in him.

Why is that the case ? It's it his personality ?

This is Laurie we are talking about. You could have the best Hooker up and coming knocking origin door and he would still pick Farah. Highlighted by last year when he allowed for a disruptive origin camp while Robbie was injured instead of having a fully fit Peats or Rein in there

Didn't he say earlier in the year when JT was threatening to drop him to reggies that he would have no problem picking Farrar from reggies?

Yeah the mole's never wrong. Although given BAs comments over weekend, I feel pretty certain he'll be re-signed.

Also watch the FPN fight in the super league wrap up. The bloke he hits takes the hit really well

I'd like to see Norman stay but the article is RLW and has no quotes from anyone, seems to be just an opinion.

what would it cost to bring FPN back to Oz?

Would make a great rotation prop on the right money

He was an absolute plodder at the end of his time with the Roosters and at the Raiders. Offered nothing but cheap penalties and errors. No thanks, Alvaro is already a better player and Twal will be as well.

Robbie won't play past 2017 if he spends the whole year in Reggie's. Robbie has to go even if it's for 1 year and then play for a contract. If no team is willing to gamble on him for three years then he can't force a club to offer him. For me Robbie is worth the 2017 gamble for us, I wouldn't give him more than a year. If he wants more that's not a gamble I would take, let another club offer him that.
I don't see him moving away from his family so if say south's and us are his probably only real NRL options

"CONTROVERSIAL five-eighth Corey Norman is close to rejecting a massive offer from St George Illawarra to sign a new deal with Parramatta.

In a major boost to the Eels, Norman is believed to be set to put pen to paper on a rich new three-year deal at the club.

Norman has been suspended for the remainder of the season after being caught in possession of drugs and participating in a sex tape.

The eight-game ban and $20,000 fine put his future in jeopardy – but Norman remains a hot property despite his indiscretions.

His decision will be another huge blow to the Dragons, who continue to throw big money at players without any success.

This year alone, the Dragons have failed in their pursuit of Cooper Cronk, Luke Keary and now Norman.

Norman began his career at the Broncos but has been at the Eels since 2014 and is regarded among the classiest playmakers in the NRL."
