People are dumbest in large groups. Nothing to do with communism, it's to do with the fact that people are just not very bright by and large.

That's a very cynical view of humanity. I prefer to take the view that people are out for their own best interests and will vote accordingly... we have the unique ability to feel empathy, but it is still survival of the fittest. There is a point where the share end of the political spectrum gets annoyed by the not share spectrum and vice versa. In Australian terms, there has to be enough lifters to support the leaners... and if the leaners start spitting on the lifters and demand more and more and more, you get Greece or Venezuela

No, no one argues that. They argue for free speech and small government. Government is huge in Australia
With pretty much zero involvement of any government intervention or regulation whatsoever. Have you read some of their insane policy statements?? They clearly feel oppressed under the current system with a mandate of free speech and next to no government, so one could argue that their position on the current state is akin to a dictatorship.

Yeah I don't agree with that, their current leader will be replaced soon anyway if they want to make some proper inroads.

I'm surprised I'm not far more cynical than I am tbh.

I'm not talking politics by the way. Just generally

If it wasn't for groupthink we wouldn't have capitalism, the most successful economic system ever divised to bring the most people out of poverty. As long as the herd spend the $$$ to impress people that don't even like them, we will live a good life.
