He is probably lucky he is starting his career now and not five years ago. The game at the moment is as fast as I have ever seen it and has slightly opened the door for below average sized players to be more prominent.

His upper is fine though another 2kg on each leg would be very attainable and would help with his drive and tackle breaking. It would be worth losing a little elusiveness.

I dont recall Tim Smiths 2005, but realistically there hasn't been another player be as amazing for a season as what The Plane was at the back end of 2009...The Plane's 2009 was like watching Under 10's with one player so much more superior than anyone else on the field. The sport of NRL never witnessed anything like The Plane's 2009 performances before and we've not seen anything remotely close to it since.

It was something truly amazing.

Tim Smith in 2005 was as good as Hayne's 2009. In the lead up to Origin one he was in genuine contention with Thurston for the halfback spot. If he had the drive of someone like Gutherson he seriously could have been special. He threw passes that I still shake my head at. His vision was unreal and is shown in the clip below. In a split decision he looked up and decided to pull the trigger which resulted in hitting Inu on the chest 30m away.

Moses's strength to me is his running game, his short kicking sucks and generally he doesn't strike me as a player who is capable of running a side around the park.

I was hoping playing outside Norman he would just go back to second fiddle and not have the pressure of being the go-to man all the time. I imagined him playing on an edge, just like Keary has been doing outside Pearce.

Anyways interesting to see how it plays out.

Just because Norman will spend less time at first receiver doesn't mean he won't be the 'go-to man'. I'm sure he'll get the ball whenever he calls it, whether from the dummy half or from Moses or one of the tight forwards.
