Saw Willis in a boxing match at 129kg. Looked soft with a lot of puppy fat and not much of a fighter, more a brawler with lots of round arm punches. Will need a fair few games in Wenty imo before become NRL standard (if ever) but a cheap pickup never the less so not much risk I assume. Could turn out a good buy.

Of course, issue is that French just gets rag dolled way to much and gets us on the back foot from the start of every set, when he kick returns he needs to stop stuttering into the line cause he gets picked up and dragged back, He needs to pick a gap and run at it hard atleast that way he may be harder to handle.

I just think Gutherson's passing game, support play is suited at fullback and he was our best player week in week out at fullback.

I am happy to see if French improves but I think his size is gonna be an issue, unless he starts playing smarter and using his speed.

Can't disagree with that. Luke Burt (at fullback) got rag-dolled a lot - but he had speed and often used to find holes and run through them or at least link up with others who would carry on the job. French needs to do that.

Imo, French will be fine.

He's what - a dozen games into his career as a First Grade NRL fullback, and two weeks off a medium-term injury?

He has too much ability, and too much class, to be a mediocre player, imo.

He will add a bit more size over the coming seasons, and learn how to effectively return the ball, and we will be sweet.

I would be switching Guth and French, Gutherson ripped at fullback, his size, his kick returns, his support play and his passing game was a real asset to have at the back, I think he needs to be our fullback moving forward.

I see what you're saying, and it totally has merit.

However, I'd say French's positional play is as good as Gutherson's, and I've a huge man-crush on the Guth Bus.

Could be conditional - something like he can train with the NRL squad and play lower grades but ineligible for NRL until 2018, pending good behaviour.

Staggs, does anyone think meehan can actually force his way into the top side if given the clearance. You'd have to think Arthur would have him play the reamainder of tge season in Wentworthvile, unless two or three props go down injured.

I like him and think he will be good, but I'm thinking 2018 is the thinking behind his signing.

Meehan was highly unlikely to play NRL this year anyway, gee he isnt like wicks with substantial NRL experience when he returned, the kid has only played 1 NRL!!

Some have even suggested on nospam46 that Mannah will be dropped for him, some have no f**ken idea!!
