I'm hearing on the grapevine that Phantoms Boy and Normie have been spending a lot of time together, not quite sure what to make of it, but I dare say that theres a good chance that they may share the same work space next year? who knows..

also we're apparently going hard for Farah.

when they were talking about jarryd and tossing up where he might go (no mention of parra naturally) and ikin said how good would he be for one of the struggling clubs i yelled at the tv "WE'RE A STRUGGLING CLUB!!"
Come on we're hardly struggling as much as last 2 years minor premiers

Wonderboy has a Fiji kid who also did not make the 7's cut under his wing. Assume he's talking to BA ?

“One of the boys that didn’t make it (in the sevens side), I’m in negotiations to get him over here now."

We need to get out of this, "Oh there's an older player on his way out on the market, quick snap him up now" mentality.

I personally don't want him but if BA wants him there's nothing I can do but support him if he becomes an Eel.

Sometimes taking these older guys may be your only option.......if Tigers pay over half of his contract then it is a good business decision.

Just maybe not a good one for culture. Although maybe the sense of entitlement would disappear at new club? He has been the Tigers face for so long, at any other club he will just be a player.

I personally don't like Farah and don't think he'd suit our structure (or our culture) that is based around the halves and getting the ball wide. But if we're to go with a Norman/Gutherson pairing then an extra playmaker out of dummy half may be the option. And between Scott and Arthur they'd be able to keep his character in check.

That's right Robbie, you won't be captain. Toes the line merkin.

Never considered 'Farah for Parra' as I am not a huge fan, but I agree with a few other posters on here that a new club and new environment would probably give him a new lease of life. That sort of experienced player could do wonders for our culture - just like Watmough and Foran did. (.....yes they did improve it for sure)

Personally the way things are going and injury dependent I think our backline is pretty settled.
1 Gutherson
2 Semi
3 Jennings
4 Taka
5 French
6 TBC (Odd are Hayne)
7 Norman

My real issue as was pointed out early is every team gets injuries. And with our current squad, I don't exactly know who is screaming to be picked should a 1st grade player go down. (Vai, Folau, Buretta, Cornish). I mean sadly in the outside backs area we are lacking but I know its early to be predicting. Hopefully we sign some good outside backs.

I'd say probably. It's unlikely he'll go down on the DV case, really hard to prove those years after the fact, if he even did it at all.

Oh yeah, right..

There is no suggestion any of the players mentioned have done anything wrong.

What about him wanting to play in France ? Is he over that and will he behave himself in 2017? Will we have to worry every bye round that he will come back ?

I have a feeling that was a knee-jerk reaction to the relationship bust up, and the DV accusations.

But time will tell, If Semi decides to bugger off to France, so be it, not much we can do about it really, so it's not really worth worrying about..

I agree here. I think for Semi to go and earn that money he has to head over there on his own, its another foreign place, he doesn't speak the language and he knows no one. He has a "family" environment here and isn't REALLY earning that much less if you think about it.
I don't reckon he is going anywhere.

Chances are he'll get a bump at the end of the year anyways

If the ducks line up as suggested in the salary cap thread, maybe we could give Semi some of the leftover 2016 $$$ and an extension based on the projected increases in the next few years.
