Like you've said we have the cap space, it's a spine position so paying that sort of money isn't overs and we have Kaysa who's a more then handy replacement, also allows him to ease into his role without playing 80 mins every week and getting buggered and also having Peats automatically improves your line speed in defence, his speed and first up contact last night on anybody and everybody was off the charts.Agreed. Peats is the 2nd or 3rd best player in his position, which is a spine position, in the game. Even accounting for his poor injury record I think $600k is more than fair. We have plenty of cap space, a need in his position and he is one of the best hookers going around. The fact we have Kaysa sewn up and able to play big minutes if Peats does get injured reduces that risk.
Peats' defence is like having another excellent big body in the middle which many people are calling out for.
Can't cry over spilt milk l just think it's a missed opportunity.
