The Roosters spend f**king heaps on junior development. They have started pumping money into Wyong, and they have always been paying for their junior rep players to fly back and forth from Queensland or New Zealand.

I meant in their own backyard contrarian Pou. But then again you know that.

Their 'backyard' is tiny and empty of children, especially the type of children whose parents would encourage them to play rugby league. The central coast is much more fertile ground for investment in junior rugby league. Almost as good as the Penrith region.

Yep. They also pay school fees of a lot of their junior reps on the east - and pay them.

What does it matter where they spend their development money? They're spending where people play rugby league., and they are helping to produce good players (probably more so than we are).. They gave their local juniors to Souths....which was a good move for everyone....Souths achieved a greater scale, and the Roosters were able to concentrate their efforts where they thought they could be more productive.

They literally have Paddington Colts, Bondi united, Coogee Wombats and maybe that's it.

Edit add St Charles Waverley. Derp @Gronk .

Anyone who isn't impressed by the Roosters identification, recruitment, development and retention of junior players compared to Parra is kidding themselves.

Parra's equivalent is shake the pepper shaker as hard as they can and see what happens. It's proved mostly to have been a dumb and ineffective strategy.

Lol. Absolute garbage. We identify and bring in tonnes of talent. The problem is clubs like the Roosters who have very few of their own juniors spend the extra dollars we aren't willing to spend and poach it from us.

So surely that proves that our strategy compared to the Roosters is wrong.

From the current probable Top 17s from both teams this is what has come through either teams Under 20s or earlier,

Roosters
Mitchell, Kenny-Dowell, Pearce, Guerra, Auberson, Friend, Napa, Cordner, Watson, Evans, and Liu. (Takauako and Tetevano - I'll give them these)

Parramatta
French, Radradra, Moeroa, Pritchard, Mannah, (Alvaro - I'll give us this one, as I've given them the other two)

Four Origin players from the Roosters says enough for mine.

No, it proves that clubs poach our juniors. Look how many Eels juniors are at other clubs. And it proves that we are coming out of a period where our squad strength across the board was atrocious. Under DA and SK and Sticky we did very poorly with juniors, that is certainly true.

Guerra played 20s at Melbourne, not the Roosters. Just FYI.

It still proves that spending money on your own junior area is pointless.

The only player in our current Top 17 originally from the Parra district is the Lebanese Cucumber.

How on earth do you reach that conclusion? Because other clubs are willing to pay overs for our juniors?

We have one of the richest talent pools in the NRL. Are you seriously advocating we just forget about it? f**k I'm glad you're not with the club....

How many of those 13 players I listed before from the Roosters were part of the Parra junior system at any stage of their life?

There are a quite a few players from the Parra junior development area that have had successful NRL careers with other clubs compared to those that havr ay Parra. That's concerning to begin with.

How many of them were in the Souths system? The Roosters poach fewer from us than other clubs. They poach more from Souths.

But they still paid overs for Tupou and Matterson out of our stables. One of whom has played origin
