Btw I'm a little tired of NewsLtd generating articles from their own fox programs. Just because Matty Johns or Hindy says something on TV, does not make it news.
Agreed. It's lazy and means that even if I don't watch their shitty show I still get their dopey opinions.

I'm not looking for an argument I just get sick of people making excuses for Parra's continued poor performance and shit house recruitment. And don't get me started on Pou defending the indefensible, Mannah the great pretender. Firstly I thought it tongue in cheek but he posted shortly afterwards another defence of him.

BA is frustrating me, our poor recruitment, his refusal to drop underperforming players, poor defence and poor attacking structures is costing us games. Everything seems built around a budget priced team, so consequently we have a budget performing team, you know one middle of the pack.

I've been following this team for over 50 years and except for a few bright spots its been all mediocre, in fact I have little memory of the late 80s and 90s and further scant memory after that period. What really sticks in my mind in 2001was especially the gf, and 2009 gf. In both cases a mid field bomb not taken cost us both gf's.

Anyway Cleary has made astute purchases of 3 forwards of the calibre we require while we have bought Evans only, a forward I'm not sold on yet. That is what is so frustrating! What is BA waiting for? If its juniors coming thru our next batch of forwards, if they make it, won't happen until another 2 years at least. In the meantime we are full of park standard forwards and will continue to struggle.

I hear you, bro - I'm frustrated, too.

But I'm not trying to make excuses; I'm trying to rationalise why we are where we are at.

As for recruitment, Arthur has managed to get Gutherson, Brown, Evans, and Foran in his time here - a reasonably good recruitment drive, I reckon.

What he needs is a break - no more injuries, no more off-field crap - abd we will be sweet.

And who said you can't buy a premiership. Storm have been doing it for years (and probably still do) and both Roosters and Souths did.
And the Storm have never bought a Premiership. I have no love for those merkins, but you can only admire their player development.

Love the Storm or hate them (I know most of us fall into the latter) Their success can only be chalked up to superior coaching. Craig Bellamy is probably going to be known as the second best NRL coach of all time, second to Wayne Bennett of course. What he's done in terms of turning players around and developing young players into superstars is incredible.

I reckon he's better than Bennett.

Yet he has 1 legitimate comp to show for it.

We'll see how great he is when Smith, Slater and Cronk all go.

BA needs the sack if he can't entice Klemmer away from the Bulldogs even though he's not unhappy and he doesn't seem to want to leave.

I agree and anyone who thinks that Klemmer absolutely not wanting to leave the Bulldogs is an excuse for not signing him is just accepting mediocrity...

His been pretty unlucky for the majority of his time so far, he did the most astute piece of business this club has done in years by bringing Foran, he was someone we were going to build a squad around for the next 5 years or so, he was the perfect signing, no one could foresee the events that followed, losing Peats our defensive leader and now current SoO hooker was at no fault of his own, they are 2 very key positions that one we are lacking in severely right now and 2 guys who had their careers ahead of them at Parra, all gone in the space of a month or so mid season. Gutherson has emerged as one of the best buys this club has honestly ever made and that was his find, Scott has been awesome from the moment he came here and has instilled a gritty edge and steel to us more so last year, Brown has been our best player all year.

They have all been smart buys so far, I just hope he does what's needed and look's at a hooker and another forward for next year.

He coached us last year and turned us into a bloody good football team, defensively again above all else resolute, quality in attack, could mix it with any of the big teams and we had a gritty and steely edge to us last year, and I can bet he had a huge part in that, had events not spiralled out of control I really believe we would have made a dent come September.

He knows what is needed it's just a little concerning to see most teams have done they're recruitment for 2018 already, let's hope some talent free's up in pre season.

I definitely won't be accepting mediocrity if we fail to sign klemmer. I'll be ranting my head off on here. I'll still follow the team but.

If only we had a Board and CEO with business acumen like from other clubs who could land a big fish like Klemmer.

his Origin record might disagree
You're right, it would. I base my opinion on Bellamy's track record with creating champion teams. Bennett has mostly coached teams of champions although he did do well with St George. It's a very debatable point though.
