Drugs in his system and a blackmail attempt aren't evidence?

Not if you expect to even remotely consider a conviction of possesion.

The only one who's committed an offence of any kind that is likely to have any substantiated evidence is the attempted black mailer.

Then why would the club pay merkins to withhold the video? If the NRL tried to impose sanctions based on lack of evidence they would be sued.

I presume so that the video didn't get into the public domain. But that's got nothing to do whether its a criminal offence. The NRL sanction players all the time who have committed no crime. Just ask Carney and Pearce.

When they sanctioned Norman last year, they said that the penalty reflected a number of issues (drugs charge, snapchat stuff, photos with merkins). At least two of those issues weren't criminal offenses.

So now that Baptiste is back regularly for the Raiders and apparently we were considering Clydesdale, I wonder if we will take a look at him before 30 June.

Well Kearney and Pearce were sleazebags. This is just a guy who was filmed snorting aspirin.

Well well well
Twal named on the extended bench straight away I see Staggs.

Let me say this about our bet - Twal will end up being a consistent starter guaranteed ! 2018

But I see Alvaro has found somthing and looks to have cemented a top 17 spot for the future.

Twal could have been a handy bench player no doubt about it

Extended bench??

Seriously if he plays fg at the Tigers they've got massive problems, he was getting bashed against park footballers on Saturday, did you not watch it??

Btw chief, Matt Eisenhuth made the squad last week for the Tigers, with all due respect for the bloke who's been through hell and back,... twal has to be a better option than him if he isn't than Alex should give the game away

Eisenhuth had a belter tbh....168 metres, a try assist, 25 tackles....sometimes all these guys need is the chance to step up.

Twal is as talented as any young prop in the game. I wouldn't be picking him in FG yet unless I was forced but he certainly wouldn't be disgraced at that level. I'd back him to do better than a Sam Tagataese, just for example.

Have you been watching the same bloke as me?

Twal is busy, and has a go, but I've seen little else every time he has played for Wenty.

He needs some size I think is the main problem. 103kg is a little light on and he definitely seems to tire when he's throwing himself at bigger bodies, especially in defence. But he's only 20 as well. He's made the NSW Cup team of the week 5 times this season, he's hardly plodding it up.

Not saying he'll be a superstar and I can certainly understand why the club let him go but he's definitely got quality about him. Just needs some work.

Eisenhuth would of done what any debutant would do when they're given a shot but he won't be able to produce those stats week in week out..you play your first game like it's your last but he'll probably struggle in the week to week grind when the opposition know more about you...

Good on him though he's got heart as big as phar lap but he's only a toiler

Alvaro > Twal, imo.

But I do see that, with some time in the gym, Twal could develop into a handy player.

Is it a fair comparison, though? Alvaro is three or four years older....he's going great guns for a 24 year old, and tbh I reckon Twal is going pretty well for a 20 year old.

Not every young prop can be a Payne Haas 117kg genetic monster is all I'm saying. Twal has plenty of the attributes of a successful middle forward, notably an excellent work ethic (especially in defence).

Anyway the Tigers get to see him succeed or fail now.

Yeah probably, but once you give yourself the confidence to do that, who knows? Even if you only do that one in five games you're better than a fair chunk of first graders tbh.

I guess the point I'm making is that a lot of ISP players would be decent first graders, and I definitely think Twal is one of those. Whether he ever becomes a level or two more than decent probably depends more on his growth physically than anything else. He's already got a first grade work ethic.

Well I can tell you one of twals major obstacles was that he couldn't put on the kgs... and if you saw how he got belted around on Saturday against his new teammmates you'll understand what's holding him back.
