Is it a fair comparison, though? Alvaro is three or four years older....he's going great guns for a 24 year old, and tbh I reckon Twal is going pretty well for a 20 year old.

Not every young prop can be a Payne Haas 117kg genetic monster is all I'm saying. Twal has plenty of the attributes of a successful middle forward, notably an excellent work ethic (especially in defence).

Anyway the Tigers get to see him succeed or fail now.

Good points.

I meant it in general - I've always been a fan of Alvaro, but Twal has never done much for me.

However, Twal is young, and will undoubtedly improve.

I don't really want to stop talking props, cause we don't do it much, but with Western Force possibly on the chopping block, would Curtis Rona be a decent wing target? Would be a shame to not even talk to him and then see him killing it for another team next year.

Could he play prop?

Wondering why his name has been mentioned and Paul Vaughan not???

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur has ruled out going to market for a hooker to replace Kaysa Pritchard this season.

Pritchard suffered a devastating knee injury which has ended his year and left the club’s stocks low, as Isaac De Gois is sidelined indefinitely due to the ongoing effects of concussion.

The Eels have recently been linked with Penrith No.9 Mitch Rein and Canberra bench rake Adam Clydesdale but despite speculation the Eels will hit the market before the June 30 transfer deadline, Arthur said they’d finish the year with what they’ve got in their system.

“We’re going to give Cameron King a go,” Arthur told Market Watch.

“He’s been with us for 18 months and deserves a chance. It may not be next week but more than likely.”
