Lodge hasn't yet shown that he has learned anything. After many f**kups and many chances he is still walking around being a farkwit. Would love for him to prove me wrong, but some people need to hit the bottom of the barrel before they realise they need to change.

I really like the idea of Lodge but the fact is literally no one has linked him to us and there are probably PLENTY of Sydney clubs willing to try and take a punt on him. Perhaps even the Tigers, his old club.

From the article its pretty clear what's happening. He is publically discussing bankruptcy. He does that deal, the victims get nothing then springs an NRL contract early next year. Grubby move but it happens all the time. It means he cant get a loan or be the director of a company for 3 years, which wont bother him at all.

On a side note to all this, it appears Meehan is all done with Parra for a shot at being a quality prop for 2018. I think that puts us out of contention for Lodge as one rehab player I have no doubt takes plenty of work from welfare officers and NRL etc. We don't need another, OR risk putting two together at the one time.

I think what BA is doing with Meehan is sensible. Bringing him as part of the team for 6 months, learning off the other players and getting him in a team environment having fun again before going to the NRL with proof of his efforts and registering an NRL contract for 2018 and beyond.

I am no law expert but not sure it works like that, I think while he is in bankruptcy, they can still get at his income to pay any debts he has.

I say he may be trying to get them to re-negotiation the amount his owes by but putting the bankruptcy out there!

Anyhow that article makes me think he isn't ready anyway. His says he is quitting but it appears the NRL is ready to clear him for next year. So why would he quit? Even if he wanted to come back to Sydney, I am sure a few clubs would happily give him a chance.

Seems to always take the easy way out!!
