Yes I know has been a grub 2 years ago in US but has been exemplary since and not drunk alcohol since that nite. Would be a handy pickup, a big body who knows how to play footy, and be cheap, say $200k pa. Has turned his life around and apparently NRL has hinted he will be allowed to play next year.

Now everyone deserves a second chance, and we are a club that gives players second chances (Ma'u Wicks), so maybe we should look at him.

I'd take him and give him a chance. Manu Mau and Danny Wicks were arguably worse and became gun players.

Wicksy worse than Lodge?

I don't recall him beating the snot out of a member of the public and threatening to kill them. He just sold a few dingers.

Ma'u was a troubled teenager in a bad crowd.

Lodge seems to be a genuine psycho. If the club did all the right checks, then ok. But the bloke is completely unhinged IMO. Ma'u and Wicksy are not.

Did Lodge spend a lengthy time in prison ? If not, why not? Let me give you a hint. It's all about the seriousness of the offence.

Actually Lodge only avoided jail time because he agreed to a plea deal. The bloke accosted two women, told them "this is the night you die", broke into their apartment building, beat the snot out of a guy who tried to help them, broke into his apartment, tried to kick down the door to get to the guys wife and young son, smashed up his apartment, and was subdued at gunpoint by police....

I dunno about you, but I think that demonstrates a more worrisome character than selling some pills (mostly to mates IIRC)

No offence bazal, but you almost make it sound like wicks did f**k all. End of the day, he was a convicted drug dealer. That's one fcking crime id hate to be convicted of.

I'm not going to derail this thread too much with arguments about which is worse because at the end of the day it comes down to personal opinion....but I would much rather a bloke like Wicks work for me than a bloke like Lodge, put it that way.

Well if I had to choose between ma'u, wicks and lodge working for me, the last one id choose would be ma'u. Mfer scares the bejesus out of me. He should be locked up for being too damn scary. His wife is one fcking brace woman!!!!!!
