The only hearsay is that we are relying on Kent's testimony.

If the business person is happy to testify that he made payments to players, that's not hearsay. Where it might get a bit grey is determining the extent to which the businessman knew what the club were doing in terms of salary cap disclosures (they'd obviously 'know'....but what can be proved is another issue).
