Stats don't show anything
Pretty sure I've mentioned it a lot of times, but anyway....
A quality hooker, a big winger to replace Semi, and replace Mannah or Terepo with another rangy prop to interchange with Evans. Backrow is tops, halves and backline are very good (with the exception of Semi leaving), the pack is probably just one player short of where it needs to be with the Evans signing taken into account. Hooker is the biggest issue, Pritchard and King is still hardly an inspiring rotation.
I've never once said we can't improve the side so don't try and imply I did. With all the being said now, who do you sign? It's all well and good to say "we need x and y" but if they aren't available then you can't sign them. Simple.
I'd have given Peats his 600k. There aren't any good rangy props on the market so I'd have a look at Agnatius Paasi. Joe Ofahengaue might be worth a punt but he will stay for Bronco dollars. And I'd chase Marika Koroibete hard given what's happening in Australian rugby. But the fact is there isn't much of what we need available. The best hooker left on the market is Cameron King.
I found out he's only kicked for 76 metres this year and not a single 40/20.Stats don't show anything
So after all that you agree we need to replace Tim.
Thanks.
The most accurate stats are on Champion Data but NRL.com has a database, which is very useful. The reduced accuracy matters little for comparing players across a season or longer - 'it all comes out in the wash' sort of thing.I found out he's only kicked for 76 metres this year and not a single 40/20.
What are the stats sites?
Thanks. I was just looking at the NRL one. Didn't know they had that. NRL.com also has a feature for comparing up to four players head-to-head (-to-head-to-head): http://www.nrl.com/stats/telstrapremiership/playerhead-to-head/tabid/12694/default.aspx

I watched a recording of the Sunday Footy Show last night and Raelene Castle was on. Freddy said to her that TPAs are unfair to smaller clubs and that some clubs have $3m over the cap.
She larfed at the $3m claim and said that the NRL make it tough for a club supporter's plumbing business to TPA a player now. She said that deals like Billy Slater and Poweraide should be allowed to continue as he should not be denied the right to endorse products and make a crust.
Clear as mud.
I think they are trying to shift away from a club introduction TPA and that a TPA needs to be more than "here is $100k".So it's harder for a small business to sponsor, as opposed to a large corporation??

Maybe the NRL expect a player to be featured in advertising or make corporate appearances. Essentially the sponsor needs to be seen to be getting a return on their investment.
Umm, yep. Nothing to see here. It's still all smoke and mirrors deep down though.

I'd go as far to say that the Billy Slater Powerade deal is one of the few legitimate TPA's in the entire NRL.

Most regular NRL players are sponsored by a business over the course of the season so the company can get a plug when their player’s name is read out on the big screen.
One family owned business from the NSW mid-north coast has managed to bag Parramatta flyer Semi Radradra — 1800 Pooman.
The company specialises in cleaning septic tanks, and fans will no doubt be hearing their name plenty this year with Radradra being the tryscoring machine that he is.
