I can't believe that "interview" with Brad Arthur was what they were talking about. I mean, I'm relieved as hell that it was nothing, literally nothing we haven't already heard Brad say a hundred times already this year, but geez, I had to sit through that crap... I want that hour of my life back..

It's funny how the club blew money on their legal case against the NRL. Hundreds of thousands wasted on absolute legal bullshit from the previous management money which could've possibly saved jobs. Then you think about the other half million wasted On the USA junket. That's a million dollars right there down recklessly. Thank god the f**kwits a re gone.

I feel sorry the kids in the media dept that got the sack. It could've been avoided.

Sorry Bart but are you serious?
No, I thought the tin foil hat picture in one of my posts you quoted might have been a giveaway...

Do you look for "chicken little sky is falling shit" in everything that happens?

...snip...

But no, let's spin it that maybe some back office redundancies are a trigger for BA to exit his contract early.
See what happens when the forum gets rid of the decent emoticons - no one can pick up on forum sarcasm anymore *crazy emoticon* *sideways glance emoticon* *lol emoticoon*

Sign Hayne to a 2 year deal. Start him at 6.

If he fails, switch him with Gutho and, when the 2 years is up, let him go.
And since Hayne has left his last two contracts a season early, chances are he only stays one year before buggering off to try another sport, so everyone's a winner!

Your buddy Fensom 47 is claiming you can't be a playmaker from the back, that's an absolute load of rot.
Ah, no I never said or suggested that. Try and follow the conversation ok. He can chime in as a playmaker, but being a full time playmaker to being a player who chimes into the attack every now and then is vastly different. What the other chap was saying over and over is that Hayne won awards for being a playmaker. There is no such award. He wont the awards for being the best fullback, (who adds to the attack but not a full time playmaker).

And that's fine - if Arthur reckons we don't need him, then cool.

I reckon he could add plenty of firepower this this team.
No one is arguing against that. What is being questions is some people believing Hayne would make a great front line playmaker. He's been tried in the halves before and it didn't work. His game is more about chiming in where and when the opportunity presents itself, not as a structured play maker. The defence work rate required for a front line play maker is also vastly different to that of someone who plays fullback.

It keeps getting asked over and over, because even in the face of facts, you keep singing the same, tired, old song.

The problem isn't the questions being asked over and over...
What facts are you talking about? That Hayne would be a great 6? Because that is what is being discussed and he has been tried there before and it didn't work, hence he was put back to full back. Those are the facts mate.

How many games did he play in the 6? I bet it was less than a full season's worth.

Darren Lockyer took a long time to feel comfortable and perform in the 6 - some players take a while to make the switch.

In any case, if we did get him, I reckon he'd slot into the 1 jersey anyway.

Fmd.

Don't worry about it.

Parra47, If we sign Hayne and BA plays him at 6 next year does that mean:

a) BA also has no idea about rugby league or
b) He just has more copies of rugby league week than you?
Rugby league week and Big League are handy for increasing your knowledge of players because of the stats pages both mags provide which along with watching the games gives a clearer indication of what each player is doing out on the field. But thanks for the insult champ.

Lockyer was ordinary in his first full year switching to 5/8. Should the Broncos have cut their losses and moved him back to fullback? Hayne's played less than half a season at 5/8 without a preseason training in the position.

I actually think he was ok at 5/8 when he played there and he's being compared to his impact at fullback, a position he's played his whole life. However, for those that disagree, is it not possible (even probable) he will be even better with a full offseason under his belt and more games in the position?

Remember Lockyer was switched to 6 much earlier in his career and had player there in the juniors. Hayne is what, 28? and has no history of being a 6 or 7. Trying to turn him into a front line playmaker this time in his career is probably not going to work.
