There is the Hayne precedent now though. The NRL are all about ignoring June 30 roster deadlines and waving 10-day cooling off periods when it doesn't involve a current rugby league player...:p

They have also endorsed the cross code mercenary behavior of Sonny Bill Williams by never hindering the Roosters in signing him.

Between the two there is probably enough ground to make a case for letting Semi come back, especially given the circumstances behind him signing with Toulon in the first place.

Yep!! They will definitely let him come back.

I was just referring to Semi, signing an NRL contract right now to return after his French union season is over. I doubt the NRL would register a contract now as he is leaving ( see Marshall a few years back).

But after his union season was over, they would have no issue.

Just as long as they don't try to make a legal commitment to each other, in the eyes of God and a celebrant.
It's not God and a celebrant.

It's God and/or a celebrant - the God thing is optional in marriage vows.

It's no wonder the vote no campaign is still staying (marginally) afloat - on a sea of gullibility!

He could sign a contract now, couldn't he? Why would we have to leave room in the cap?

He could. I'm not sure what it's like in French Union with regards to contracts. It could be like the NRL where the players have the power or it could be like the NFL where the franchises have more power. If it's the latter I'm sure Semi doesn't want to jeopardise getting paid a million for 6 months.

He could sign a letter of intent to sign, which is not legally binding and for all we know he already has. But they mean nothing.

Hang on, I was the dummy that left off the "h" in has and it's not that hard to spell. You do realise that's inferring a lack of intelligence don't you?

Actually, you probably don't. Carry on.

It was sarcasm. Hindy111 = bad spelling. Hindy111 = Mocks other member for bad spelling.
