Rumours and Stuff

Yes, that would be the one. Still sticks in my lower colon yet I can get over the 01 GF. Go figure.

I've never seen the game. I was driving back from a wedding in Scone with the radio on and a Dogs fan in the back seat, who I was giving quite a bit of stick until the last X minutes. I saw a couple of 'highlights' on the news, but saw no point in watching any more. I think I shoved the video cassette up the arse of the neighbour's poodle.

Just on this, how much of a waste of time is the NRL channel? Basically endless replays of Ben Ikin and Paul Kent talking to nuffies, Sterlo being dragged down by nuffies, and the Professor making jokes that only appeal to nuffies.

Why not show more NSW and QLD cup games? More Holden Cup games (obviously not moving forward but)....even just replays. Get the SG Ball finals on there.

FFS.
You are spot on.

I wanted to watch a replay of our under 20s this week on fox, as i was away on on the weekend.

Absolutely no replay. It wouldn't be hard to show a few replays as they had already televised it live.

Not happy Jan.

Our glorious leader said in some twitter questions he participates in that there will be nothing cause 80% of the fans only turn up after the game that it won’t be missed.

that is f**king pathetic if true, there is more to the game than crowd attendances

these kids need more footy so they can develop at this particular age and the NRL's response is to give them (and us) less footy

they couldn't give a hit about the fans or the players but hey, it makes their job a lot easier

I was a ypung chap. Dad would watch replays. Id listen on the radio.
At 18-2 and 10 to go I turned it off and went to watch with a big smile. Of course he knew result based on if I would come and watch game or not. So it really used to piss him off.
But this time we where both shocked.

Can you imagine the thrill a 16yld would get being on tv.
I agree replays or even a highlights show of under 20s.

The kids will still be playing footy, even if they're not on telly or wearing Eels jerseys.

I suspect cutting the NYC comp will push 18-20 year olds into reserve grade sooner, at least for the ones physically ready for it. Will this be better or worser? Whom knows?

and therein lies the problem, take them out of NYC a high level of quality and put them in grade footy with grade coaches

How will it push them in sooner, they will still only have 17 spots available in State Cup footy

The ones with NRL potential will all be in NRL squads anyway. They will have access to NRL standard coaching. As it stands, NYC players not currenty in full time squads only train part time - have a look at the training galleries the club puts up. Dargan (full time squad) is in every one but guys like Leleisiuao, Daukafolau and Stone are not. Next year the under 20s of this standard will all be in NRL squads. If anything it will interfere with their Cert IV in Greenkeeping rather than interfering with their footy.

Because clubs will make room in those State Cup teams for player development.
