Yes yes I know it’s Buzz Rothfield but he was saying that a Parra player needs a change in attitude and preparation or they won’t be welcomed back next year.

If anyone I would think it’s maybe Vave.

Again, not saying it’s true.
Meehan?

If this is true it sux.
In 2015 there was talk about the ARLC introducing a rule that players must be over 19 to debut and it resulted in THIS article which has some interesting names in it.

In the last 2 years alone some pretty decent players have debuted under 20 years of age:
- Cleary
- Hess
- Watson
- MItchell
- Ponga
Cotric was pretty handy as well this year as well mate.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that it was ratified, but I can't find the article, so maybe I imagined it lol.

No. It's apparently about player development and keeping the pressure off young blokes before they are ready.

Considering how much pressure NRL coaches are under, and the amount of testing / training players receive, I seriously doubt any player will debut at 18 or 19 that isn't considered to be ready!!

And this is probably supported by history, just a rough guess (without looking at the history books), but it seems most teenagers that have debuted over the last few of years seemed to have been ready and have remained in the top grade, Cleary, walker, Johnston, Moeroa, Mitchell, Mitford, cotric, Pritchard, critchton, Scott, .... just to name a few, all seem to be headed towards a long term NRL career.

Yeh, I don't think the NRL's concern is so much for those young blokes who DO play NRL at a young age. I would think it is about the blokes who are not physically ready but try to do everything (and anything) they can to get ahead early.
