Did BA even talk to them FFS???We've clearly sacked half our squad ... massive scandal ... but we have done so well to keep it under wraps

I believe players have regular leave entitlements and so may have accrued leave from prior years?Yea that's what all of them were just on - the off season. But for some reason some blokes seem to be getting an extra couple of weeks
Some blokes might’ve been given a few extra weeks to have a good hard look at themselves. It looked like (and I didn't scour the pics so I may be wrong) most of the blokes back at the moment were the new promotions and guys like Tep who finished the year injured. So maybe the blokes who played the end of the year have been given until the WC guys are back?

Good on them. It's a fine line between getting sacked and free holidays. Some blokes might’ve been given a few extra weeks to have a good hard look at themselves.

What positions need fixing?
Our backrow is strong. If we land Hayne our backline and halves is strong.
Hooker and Front row?
Not really any hookers available. Liccha at time would of been nice. But we will roll with Kaysa,King,Smith with Mahoney perhaps getting time at Nsw cup.
We also have young Schneider and I think we signed another young hooker.
Does anyone know why some players haven't come back to pre season training yet (besides those involved with the world cup)? Surely everyone should get the same amount of leave?
We should have waited to sign him after his career crashed and burned.Kyle is still a while away from first grade. Only turning 18 next year, he may play some NYC.
Phoenix Hunt is the rumoured dummy half from souffs.

Agree about Schneider a long way off first grade still only 17yo. Very bright prospect for the future if he continues to develop.
Also agree its possible to play NYC next year. A lot will depends what happens with Mahoney
I'm hearing there are 8 players still eligible for SG Ball next year that were part of our successful; SG Ball team this year doing NYC preseason. Id be curious to see how many stay up or go back & play SG Ball.
Future looks great
it's not the DerperLol nospam47. Anyone who has firm for regurgitating The Lurker stories after they've been disproven must be legit, right?
I'd hazard a guess with Valance Harris, William Kei, Stefano Utoikamanu, Kyle Schneider, Matt Doorey, Harry Duggan, JP Nohra and I'm unsure about the last one assuming Dylan Brown is considered as full time Job 20's.
The first 4 are the most likely imo to have a spot. But with injury and promotions (likely to Mahoney, Faingaa, Afualo, Keppie and Dresler throughout the year the other ones could easily come into contention).
One thing is for sure is that if we can keep a large contingent of our first 17 on the field we'll have another strong year in the 20's.
it's not the Derper
maybe read it before commenting

Broncos cap questioned after Lodge rejects huge Newcastle offer for peanuts
November 13, 2017 5:18am EST November 13, 2017 5:14am EST Something smells fishy...

Something smells fishy with the Broncos salary cap after controversial prop Matt Lodge rejected a monster deal with Newcastle to stay at Red Hill, according to journalist Phil Rothfield.
Lodge divided opinion last week when Brisbane handed him an NRL lifeline with a reported $85,000 one-year deal as Wayne Bennett plans to use him as his starting prop next season.
The former Tiger admitted he was close to calling it quits after accumulating a massive amount of debt from his lawsuit where he was forced to cough up $1.6 million in damages for assaulting a New York couple.
The hefty bill is the reason why Rothfield can't understand why Lodge wouldn't opt for a lucrative three-year $1.5 million contract with the cash-loaded Knights.
Brown reportedly looked into the services of the out-of-favour front-rower after an impressive year with Brisbane's feeder in the Redcliffe Dolphins, but Lodge chose to repay the favour to the Broncos for giving him a second chance.
But, it's a huge sacrifice that has put question marks on the the Queensland powerhouse's salary cap expenditure.
‘’Now I don’t know what’s happening with the Broncos salary cap and they go and sign him for $100,000,'' Rothfield told Fox Sports' NRL 360.
‘’I’m told he knocked back $400, $500 and $500 (thousand over three years).
‘’You haven’t worked for two years, so he’s taken as you’ve said $85,000, and I’m telling you Newcastle offered him $1.5 (million).
‘’I’m not saying there’s a rort but there’s something sus about it, how a kid who hasn’t earned money for so long, has stayed at the Broncos so cheap.’’
Panellist Andrew Webster butted in with some reasoning for Lodge's lower-paying choice.
‘’Power of one – he wants to go and play for Wayne Bennett,’’ he said.
If Lodge was so troubled by his inability to pay off his debts, the idea of moving to Newcastle could have both solved his financial issues and satisfied his desire to play first grade football.
‘’Theoretically, $1.5 (million) he nearly pays his debt in New York after three years. He at least gets half of it done if he’s sensible,’’ NRL 360 co-host Paul Kent said.
