But seriously, good on Burty. Assistant coach was the natural progression for him after a couple of good years at the helm of the NYC team here. Unfortunately his skill set as a potential assistant coach probably overlaps more with Steve Murphy than the recently departed Peter Gentle when it came to an internal promotion.

Wish him the best in his journey to a head coaching gig*.

*Except when he is up against the Eels or if he starts poaching our young guns.

Good on Burty for the coaching gig. You'd have to assume we'll promote from within for this position. My pick would be Scott Jones who has coached our Harold Matts and SG Ball of the past 3 years, making the grand final all 3 times and winning it twice and winning the national title twice as well.
