Why would we need to get Greenbergs permission to make an offer to an uncontracted player?
To sign a contract and have it ratified, sure every club needs to do that, but to make an offer for 2017 - doesnt make sense we would need to do that.

Thats what I was referring to, The Turd = NRL

If I was in charge I would sign Cooper Cronk for 2 years. I would offer him a life after football in a coaching assistant role when he retires. I would tell him that he needs to plan now for life after his playing days and we can provide that. Cameron Smith will more than likely coach the Storm after Bellamy. I would offer a similar opportunity to Cronk in an assistant role.

Didn't the Tiurd appoint an administrator to run the club and make it a powerhouse

Strange that with his assistance they couldn't put a competitive offer against an NRL owned club, the questions still come back to , what did the NRL want to happen

Lol nice try. This is actually one of our club's best days in 2016!

I actually think this is a better scenario for me to gloat about how right I was about this bloke's character... where do you stand on the issue esteemed Suity, other than with splinters up your arse?

No, you said he was going to French rugby.
You lose.

Where do I stand?
I'm disappointed that he didn't sign with us. I'm happy for Hayne to have signed a lucrative deal at the Titans though, and I look forward to seeing him play there, hopefully this weekend. I'm also looking forward to him helping NSW win back the S.O.O.
I've never met Hayne, nor do I know what has happened behind the scenes re negotiations so I'm not going to start casting aspersions about his character and calling him names.
He is the greatest Eel I've ever seen play and for that he will always have my respect.
That's where I stand.

No doubt he is a phenomenal talent but he no longer is the greatest Eel of them all and possibly never was.

LOL

Matt Johns has suggested the club chase Cronk along with Greg Bird, Luke Lewis and then some sensible signings like Vaughan and Elgey.

A million a season for Cronk wouldn't be enough IMO to drag him out of Melbourne.

Johns just likes the headlines.
Would Cronk be a bad signing? I don't think so. Geyer suggested Bird and Lewis and possibly Gallen. He is a moron.

Did you see his tweet in reply to Bevan Paul's tweet that an offer was made ? He claimed Paul did not make an offer.

Bevan has not (yet) replied, at the moment I'm leaning towards believing Hayne going by his presser he just looked pretty disappointed to me.
Yeah sorry Twiz, that was me... :p

I just don't think we will have the money to convince him to leave Melbourne. Regardless of how much we throw at him unless we sort out the front office and quickly it won't happen.

Vaughan, Elgey, Lolohea, Kurt Baptiste, Cameron Cullen and Matt Srama would be worth looking at. Elgey and Cullen would be surplus now they have that NFL dick on massive money. Srama wouldn't be too bad.

I would still like to see us give Cameron King some time in first grade.

No decision he has ever made could change my decision about what I saw of him as a player for the Eels. You hate all you like. I can't do that.

There are rumours floating around that he's interested in relocating to Sydney...
