Merkins rating the quality of our 'props' could only be talking about their post contact metres, because defensively our middle is the best in the game (from a post contact metres conceded perspective).

As to the importance of this facet of a team, the Storm were fifth worst in the NRL (we were third worst) yet they were clearly the best team in the comp last year, plus they utterly smashed the post contact metres champions in the grand final. There are clearly other ways to win footy games.

Plus, we are not a team that attacks through the middle - we use our lethal outside backs, and dangerous second-rowers, to punch holes in defensive lines.

Fair enough. My solution (that I came up with in the last 30 seconds) is independent doctors assessing knocks at every game and only failed concussion tests receive the free interchange.
