Fact is that no team has ever won a premiership that has had more then 49 points scored against them in one game. So unless we can break a 110 year record with this team...HAHAHAHA!!!! I have already written off this season as far as winning it goes.

The best we can hope for is we somehow make the semis and maybe win a game.

@TheRam mate love your passion and hoping like hell we get our season on track this weekend.

To claim the 110 year record regarding 49 points being scored against the eventual premiers, you should in all honesty adjust the scoring in games played before tries were worth 4 points.

Based on this adjustment, the record is a mere 64 years old and has happened more than once since 1908.

In '53 the eventual Premiers, Souths lost 2 games with an adjusted score of more than 49 points against them. In Round 1 they lost to the Magpies who scored 8 tries and kicked 10 goals for an adjusted score of 52 points (originally it was 44-28. In Round 7 they also lost to the Bears who scored 9 tries and kicked 8 goals for an adjusted score of 52 points also (original was 43-13).

Going back to 1947 when the Tigers l won the comp, they got done by Souths to the tune of 46-10 which if adjusted would be 56 points as Souths scored 10 tries and kicked 8 goals.

Hopefully we are still in with a chance this year afterall :D:D

Yeh, but field goals were worth 2 points before Eric Simms started kicking lots of them

Yep which was a cluster f**k in round 2. You don't chop and change 3 outside backs several times during a game. If you aren't good enough for the position don't play there. Seems like BA has fixed this stupid 3 player swap ploy this week
Players swap in attack all the time, especially between wing and centre. There is virtually no difference between the two in attack.

As for Hayne swapping between fullback and wing/centre, the Roosters won the comp with theirs doing just this with RTS and Minichiello.
Yep Jennings moving back to the left for the first 2 rounds was dumb. We were best defensively when he played next to Moses. Many people questioned this decision in the off season. Stupid decision. Defence wins matches.Glad he is rectifying that f**k up now
Jennings played on the left because Hayne preferred the right. Now that Auva'a is the other centre, Jennings has switched to allow him to play his preferred position. One upside is that we now have our best defensive back next to our worst, but if that was the priority we would have done it in round one.

It was a 3 way swap between Hayne , Hoffman and French. Has that ever happened before? At least we will never see it again.

I'm a Hayne fan but it doesn't matter what Hayne wants it is what is best for the team. Jennings at right centre is best for the team

Yes I am talking about round 1 in terms of Edwards. So I am glad we can agree it was a f**k up in round 1

Yep, again against Penrith...another f**k up in round 1.

Nope he was injured so that wasn't a f**k up.
Hindsight is great. I’m sure if we picked Kenny, started Evans over Alvaro, played and stuck with Hayne at back, had Jennings switch sides and Penishands wasn’t injured we beat Penriff and then Moanly off the back of that

Agree that Jennings moving back to the right is about improving defence. Which is why he should never have been moved to the left. You don't fix what is not broken.
He played on the left to allow Hayne to play his preferred side. Now he is moving back so Auva'a can play his preferred side. If the priority was just having Jennings outside Moses we would have done that in round one.
Hayne at fullback will be better in attack and defence than whatever French was offering.
Except he's already been playing fullback. But this way when he has a rest it'll be at wing not centre.
Scott may have been crook in round 1...He was gassed after 5 minutes. Which makes the decision to play him over a healthy Kenny Edwards even dumber.
He might not have known he was crook. Or worse, he might not have said anything. He is off contract, probably wants to keep paying the bills next year, and is in danger of falling out of the side if we win without him. He needs to be playing first grade while negotiating for 2019. Having a week off will be the last thing he wants to do.

Wouldn't that be f**ken terrible! Why follow the Eels if you're only concerned about winning premierships? Even the best team in the comp doesn't necessarily win the grand final that year.

If you seriously though we'd be a good chance of a premiership before last week, given the strength of the Storm and the Cowboys and the Roosters, you've got rocks in your head anyway. Semis and knocked out by one of those sides is probably realistic.

The advantages those sides have over us at the moment are massive and it's nothing to do with coaching or administration.
And suppose those three teams are each a one-in-three chance of winning the comp this year (I disagree, but let's go with those numbers for the purposes of illustration) then they are each twice the chance of not winning the competition as they are of winning it. There are no sure things.

Are we 0% chance of winning the comp this year just because of a result in round two? I doubt it, but if we are we'll never actually know. It's up to the individual supporter to decide if it's worth holding out hope for a 2018 premiership. If you don't think so, please make sure you COME HERE EVERY DAY AND f**kEN DEATH RIDE THE TEAM YOU f**kEN USELESS WHINY MERKINS
