Some thrive, some absolutely shit themselves and lose a tight game single-handedly. But surely it can't hurt just throwing the bloke out there to see what happens?!?

Unless, unlike Glenneel, you don't assume we are going to lose anyway. Then what-have-we-got-to-lose? is a really stupid attitude.
No I'm saying sometimes you take a risk and throw a young bloke into the game rather than persisting with an out of form player or one obviously past his use by date. RL is full of risks and selecting a rookie player is one of those, same as playing an out of form player. They could both cost you the game, or help win it. Tell me any coach that doesn't take risks.

I attend all the field sessions with 60s and I can guarantee there have been no blow ups. If it has happened it has been behind closed doors. I can say that they have been training hard to overcome the start of the season. I cant say why they are not taking their training form into the game.
The blowup rumours started on 1 eyed eel and some journo took it from there
I actually wouldn't mind a blow up if Penrith are anything to go by. They look like they all want out......

Remember John Rheinberger one and only full game in the 1975 GF.
gibbo plucked him from obscurity to replace Mark Harris. Roosters won 38 to nil V Changa and his white boots. Huge call by Gibbo. Seemed to work out ok on the day.
Gibbo had a real knack of bringing in unknowns.
Steve McKenzie 1981 GF winner.
Gary Martine 1982 GF winner.
Chris (how ya) Phelan. Etc.

Arthur had five players under 24 in his top 17 last year. Same as Bellamy, Griffin and Barrett, and more than Robinson, Green and Flanagan. In the top eight, only Bennett, with his monopoly on Brisbane-based youngsters, had more.

This year we only have three. Why change a top 17 that works?

Good logic.
Fingers crossed. What do the say in the Superannuation commercials.
Past performance isnt necessarily indicative of future performance.
Not sure what other criteria could be used other than training form.

You don't go from top 17 at a top eight club to not good enough for first grade. I can understand if our club weren't going to offer him a contract but there are plenty of clubs needing experienced middle forwards. It would all depend on his price.

David Gower's an electrician and he would rather sit near the bottom of a 30 man squad than go and get a real job. Mannah's plumbing business must be going pretty well if he would rather work than keep playing footy at only 31 years of age. Maybe he got an apprenticeship with 1800PouMan?

David Gower is not Mannah. Gower has spent his career as a journeymen back up.
Unsure Mannah will want the same. Sure a club may pick him up, he needs a change

I can. I think it "peeves" the players who are putting in, who's position is under threat (a position they may covert), the players who positions are swapped around to accommodate a player who is inserted into a team. I think an otherwise tight team can be disturbed by this. I may be wrong, but I'd accept it in a professional environment if the new party had done the work and was showing performance.

There are only two first grade players whose positions could be under threat from Hayne: French and Gutherson. Lets's keep it in perspective.

I've heard it said his ego wouldn't allow that.... well there you go, it's not up to him it's the coach who decides, his ego has nothing to do with it. I recognise he didn't say that (I assume), but even we supporters attribute those traits to him.

I think you just answered your own question.

Both popular members of the squad. Auva'a was also denied a spot in his preferred position by Hayne playing centre.
