To be fair to Avenger he has been calling for Normans head for 6mths. This Monday thing is not a huge deal. If eels won I dont even think it makes the news.
But his forms been woefull .

Yes agree. Who drinks on a Monday? We played last Saturday. If they hit the drink after the game its not as big a deal.

I reckon you will find the modern thinking around recovery from a game is that alcohol straight after playing isnt such a good thing

I think when your being paid big money to perform and your not performing and your team is currently winless during the first month of the season anyone with half a brain would be doing all they can to turn things around.
The bottom line is if your drinking alcohol you can’t perform/recover as well as if your not drinking and we need these players in peak health.
Do you think Cameron smith and Billy slater get on the piss if Melbourne were going poorly? How do you think Craig Bellamy would react to that?
These are professional athletes and when your winless at the start of the season I think avoiding alcohol and doing what you can to turn this around is a no brainer.

Im not of the opinion its ok, hindy111 just said it would be ok if they went on the piss straight after a game

I would prefer they werent drinking .... but having said that, this is the typical hammer a team in the media when they are down story .... they are football players, they will likely be swearing even if they are drinking water

I still appreciate avengers regular input ... even when he's having his weeklies

We won 2 from the first 6 last season and still finished 6 points ahead of 8th, so technically/mathematically we’d have still made the 8 even if we lost all of our first 7 games.

I’m holding onto that flawed logic until Round 8..

I would start by sneaking some sandpaper onto the field, and tampering with the opposition's balls with it.

Then I'd make our forward pack down 3 or 4 Sudafed before each game.
