what did you have deleted ?
No I thought someone was asking what happened to a deleted comment and someone else said people never learn etc.

Never mind. It was an honest question in case I missed some rule somehow that’s all.

One night I was drunk and posted a few things but took them down before I was caught.

Canterbury might be handcuffed by the salary cap for next season but their recruitment strategy has taken a long-term focus with the club recruiting some of the best emerging talents on long-term deals.

The latest addition to the team is a talented Parramatta junior in Matthew Doorey.

Turning 18 later this year, Doorey has signed an incredible four-year-deal with the Bulldogs which sees him on a development contract before jumping into the top 30 in 2021.

A Kellyville product, Doorey has been released by the Eels for the remainder of the year to join the Bulldogs where he’s expected to feature in the 20s later this season.

Bulldogs won the battle for his signature last week.

A backrower who was the youngest member of the 2016 GIO Cup competition winners, Doorey is also part of the NSW 18s pathways program.

His deal with the Bulldogs has him tied up until the end of 2022.

With salary cap constraints at the top level, the Bulldogs have swooped on some of the game’s most promising young talents.

Earlier this year they landed the signature of Australian Schoolboy forward James Roumanos.

Roumanos has signed a three-year NRL deal with the Bulldogs starting in 2019.“

And

“Which Sydney based club is chasing the signature of Suaia Matagi?

It’s understood this team wants to bring the 30-year-old into their team before June 30 but have some work to do before the deal is done.

A journeyman, Matagi started his career with the Warriors before moving to the Roosters, Panthers and the Eels who are his most recent club.

Matagi started in the forward pack on the weekend.”

Off-contract props set to spark transfer circus as NRL clubs targets stall decisions

DEAN RITCHIE, The Daily Telegraph
an hour ago

IT is the great $20m front-row scramble — and it’s delaying the long-term recruitment plans of eight NRL clubs.

Last season, NRL clubs were locked in a halfback frenzy — this year it is front-row hysteria.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal 11 top-level props are coming off contract after this season and clubs are talking, scheming and negotiating to snag their man.

And every decision depends on the decision at another club.

With deals spanning two to four years, the total contract value for the front-row free agents would be worth between $15m to $20m.

One NRL coach said: “We can’t do anything until the prop we want makes a decision. Our decision will then impact on another prop.

“Once one front-rower decides, it could flow on quickly from there and there’ll be a string of recruitment news.”

Leading NRL player agent Allan Gainey added: “It’s is a front-row jigsaw — it’s merry-go-around in regards to where they are all going to fit in.”

Of the players off contract at season’s end, The Daily Telegraph can reveal:

•Canberra’s Kangaroos prop Shannon Boyd is being chased by Newcastle and Gold Coast, with one offer worth $650,000 a season. However the Raiders say they won’t be pushed into making an inflated offer;

•Jarrod Wallace has an option in his favour to stay at the Gold Coast next year, and a four-year offer on the table, but is considering interest from Brisbane. If he leaves the Titans will target Boyd;

•Dragons have tabled an offer for enforcer Leeson Ah Mau and will meet with him this week to try and ward off interest from Newcastle and the New Zealand Warriors;

•Melbourne have offered a new deal to Maroons prop Tim Glasby, who has attracted interest from Canberra and Newcastle, as well as the Dragons if Au Mau leaves, although Penrith’s interest has waned. A decision is expected by the end of this week;

•Josh Papalii is close to re-signing with Canberra on a three-year deal but reports emerged on Wednesday of an unknown club offering a four-year deal worth $3.2m. Souths are denying an interest;

•Newcastle are unlikely to re-sign Queensland front-rower Jacob Lillyman;

•Penrith have expressed interest in Brisbane’s Matt Lodge but he may resist a return to Sydney;

•Prop Korbin Sims is yet to receive an offer from the Broncos, who have made re-signing Lodge their priority despite interest in Sims from Manly. Sims, who hopes to have his future settled within the next week;

•Canterbury are shopping around Aiden Tolman, who has previously been linked to Cronulla and the Gold Coast;

•Parramatta are expected to announce the signing of Junior Paulo on a four-year deal worth nearly $3m; and

•Canberra prop Sia Soliola is unsigned but highly respected at the club.

Giant front-rower Nelson Asofa-Solomona has been linked to Parramatta when his deal concludes after next season. Melbourne however are currently negotiating to re-sign him now.

•Manly’s Marty Taupau has a heavily back-ended deal but remains under contact at Brookvale for next season.

Other props coming off contract after this year include Parramatta’s Suaia Matagi, South Sydney’s Mark Nicholls, St George Illawarra’s Jeremy Latimore and the Warriors’ Sam Lisone.

“The prices are going up because clubs want marquee props,” said one recruitment manager.

“There will be lots of swirling around to come. Probably the middle-tier props have become more attractive though.”

There is also a shortage of wingers and centres on the open market.

Ten clubs each have a spot left in their top-30 NRL rosters for this year and have until June 30 to find that extra player.

‘Hang in there’: Emotional Michael Jennings reveals advice to brother George

PARRAMATTA star Michael Jennings has come close to tears after revealing how brother George’s three-year wait between NRL matches almost made him quit rugby league.

The Jennings siblings fulfilled a lifelong dream of playing alongside each other when George was called onto the wing in round four, which was his first appearance since May 2015.

“He was close to giving up the game, which is pretty sad for me talking about it. It’s unbelievable where he’s come from,” an emotional Michael said on Tuesday.

George broke his leg five games into his NRL career at Penrith three years ago, only for an infection to extend his recovery deep into the off-season.

He was then set to face off against Michael in a trial ahead of the 2016 season, only for a shoulder injury to all but ruin his chances of appearing at all that year.

And then upon his move to the Eels last year, he began to consider becoming a tradesman as he struggled to break into the first grade team and was without a deal for this season.

“He just thought if he didn’t get an opportunity this year, that he’d kind of look to other options in his life to where he wants to be. Footy wasn’t going to be one of them,” Michael said.

“I remember just telling him, ‘You make your own luck, you’ll be alright. Just hang in there.’ If those words helped him out a bit, I’m glad he’s playing some good footy now.”

George, 24, has scored three tries in five matches since his elevation onto the right wing, where he forms a one-two punch with his 30-year-old brother.

A former Australian and State of Origin representative with one year remaining on his own deal, Michael is hopeful George has shown enough to earn himself a long-term extension.

“If he keeps playing the way he’s playing and performing each week he’ll be really close to getting another deal,” Michael said.

“We don’t talk much but when it’s small talk, it means a lot. And he understands it better than some other players. We work really well together. He seems to play with a lot of confidence next to me.”

But while he and George have enjoyed playing alongside each other, Michael denied youngest brother Robert would be jealous and could be enticed from South Sydney.

“I don’t think he would be (jealous). I think I’m more jealous of him living on the beach. He’s loving it up at Souths and is enjoying the lifestyle out there,” he said.
