Again with last year. Do we have to rehash all the favourable variables that allowed us to compete successfully only just mind you when it came to scoring points and finishing off teams. Did we not have one of the slickest backlines in the NRL? So why did we have such a pathetic F/A for a team in the top four?

The difference this year is teams are bringing it to us big time. They know we have a great pack of toilers that will go all day if they don't bash us up frond and so they do. They focus on their defense and run at our boys like bulls knowing we don't have the size or the offloads that can hurt them if they keep it up.
Of course we don't have the offloads with Evans, Williams, Brown and Vae on the sidelines.
Coaches as you keep saying Pou do their homework and they have done it on us. Our forwards will look like world beaters when the opposition take them for granted and or are mentally shot like Manly were. Then people like you will say, see they are now playing focused and doing all the thing that you mentioned above. Then you will feel like a genius again in your own little satisfied mind and I'm sure you will tell all about it too.
Actually I didn't post after any losses this year. I didn't need to because the death riders went into hiding.

I agree our middle attack isn't our strength, but it would be a damn sight better with our best attacking forwards on the field. But as we showed last year, you don't need a great attacking middle to win games. Last year proved it. Our start this year doesn't erase what was proved in 2017. Our middle defence was very good last year though, and will be again if our poor discipline doesn't keep forcing us to spend 55% of the game defending.

If you don’t think attitude has a massive impact on possession numbers then I don’t know what to say.

I don't think that attitude has been the main factor in our results as the coach has stated all season. In fact our attitude has been so convincingly good that the coach has said that he never saw this results coming. He at this point is still shock from an attitude perspective. Watch the press conferences and interviews. Attitude is not the issue. Hell do you watch the games? For the most part they are trying valiantly. They just aren't good enough.

They can't win the ruck.

Most fans aren’t smart enough and don’t know enough about managing a football team because they’ve never experienced it.

They also have a very limited understanding of what the coach thinks and the inner workings of the club and tend to make weird logic leaps based on the limited information that they have.

@Glenneel and @TheRam have a gold medal in logic leaps.

You and Pou have Platinum and Diamond c**k rings in excuses.

Or are they being dominated because support play in attack and defence has dropped off due to fatigue?

So our issue is that we are spending less on players than the good teams? That won't be solved by spending more on forwards but less elsewhere, will it?

If they are fatigued from the opening whistle, then I suppose you're right.

No our issue is that the coach didn't balance the squad right. We have the squad that he has bought. We are coming last. He has failed dismally. Last year he was heading in the right direction. But then he failed to correct and or improve on the deficiencies within the squad whatever they might be since we can't seem to agree on what they are.

But what you cannot deny is that we are a worse team then last year, unless you want to look like an even bigger intellectual buffoon then you normally do, since we are coming LAST and he is in charge of all our successes and failures. End of story. He is failing and the season is only going to get longer and uglier for him.

His only reprieve will be if he can pull off major signings to appease the masses and silence the drums of death that will be calling him out. Then even if he does make a few good to great signings he had better hope that he can reinvent himself as a coach and regain whatever damage will be lingering from such a failed and totally destructive abortion of a season where we are now one of the 3 or 4 teams vying for the spoon, again. In a season where we were meant to be serious title contenders.

It appears the forum has 2 defined groups.
Group "A" Is not happy with our team, our attitude and our style of play and believe we should be doing better.
Group "B" are pretty happy we will turn our form for the better.
And never the twain shall meet.

I'd say Glasby is objectively worse than Mannah, at the moment. He makes f**k all metres or tackles, the only area he's superior is tackle breaks, but even then he's had 12 in 8 games so it's barely worth mentioning.

But Glasby played origin last year and Mannah didn't. And as we all know Origin is the only good indicator of a good player. If a player isn't selected for origin they may as well give up the game.

There is also group “C” which consists of silly old merkins intent on categorising everyone. That is a small group of one.

Arthur has blamed our discipline and patience. And he's right.

No I agree we are a worse team than last year. My point is none of us know why, but some are trying to fit our narrative to our preconceptions.

Well Semi’s spectacular wasn’t helping us enough before Moses got here. Having 2 quality kickers helped a lot in my opinion
Don't forget our form last year was all because Cameron King came into the side.

Some merkins just can't grasp the fact that correlation and causality are two different things.
