The Parramatta Eels Club today issued a statement on behalf of Bernie Gurr:

" Today Kenny Edwards, through his management company, requested a release from his NRL Playing Contract with Parramatta National Rugby League Club Pty Limited. This release was granted by the Club effective immediately.

We thank Kenny for his on field contribution during his time with our Club and we wish Kenny and his family all the very best in the future."

I know you had a hard life growing up and not many could comprehend what you went/go through.
It's unfortunate that your lack of self control on and off the field has led to this and I hope you can learn to control the silly things you do and kick on somewhere for a good life. I say all this with both a heavy heart and a sigh of relief.

It's hard to say given we no longer leak like a sieve. Clearly we're looking, but info can be tough to come by it seems.

We have about half a squad worth of players unsigned from next year's top 30. The thirteen players from our current top 30 who are uncontracted for 2019 probably haven't all been offered contracts, and if they have it wouldn't be for much money.

So I'd say we are definitely in the market. Here's the team currently contracted for 2019:

Given not all those blokes will be on top 17 money there is plenty of room for new signings. We need a winger and a hooker. Another attacking middle forward would help too.

Haha okay, I think I am allowed to be a little frustrated about the lack of recruitment in recent years.

We didn’t worry this year and thought with a lesser team then last year that we would finish 4th. It doesn’t work that we, teams evolve and improve and we didn’t and we have been found out big time.

And that has not happened, we are a rabble and a lot of it has to do with the fact we didn’t recruit well.

So no, I won’t mind my own business because BA has not been active enough for my liking and after 5 years we don’t have anything to show for it.

All I want is some ambition, and we need more then one attacking front rower, we need 2 and we need a gun back rower also.

We are about 4-5 players short.

On top of recruitment we need fresh ideals and attitude.

Have we signed Paulo though?

And I know, I have heard the rumours but is there any substance to it, Klemmer or TPJ as well as Paulo will transform our pack immediately.

Yea I get you, it’s just I feel like after this years failure to recruit I am short of having any faith in what we are building towards.

And the longer the season goes on the more players you begin to miss out on.

Assuming that’s Tavita Pangai Jnr... if so, that would be a sensational signing. He has plenty of upside with a lot of good footy ahead of him.
