Besides my dislike for Austin in the halves the other problem is he is a right side 'half'. Moses also plays on the right. I'm assuming we would move Austin - a shit house half as it is to his least preferred left side

One thing I'll say for him is that he has a red hot go. Not all of our current team seem to at the moment.

I'm not denying that. But you need more from your halves than just having a red hot go. Gutho at 6 is the perfect example of needing more than just effort from your halves, particularly when we don't have a creative 9.

So, who knows what (if any) plan the club have for him? You seem to already know the answer to your own question....I don't get it. Who has said that the club want him as a No, 1 starting half? As a utility he beats the shit out of Will Smith, can fill in as a starting half when first choices are injured, and generally seems to stir his team mates up (in a good way) a lot more than, say, Corey Norman.
